    Default Ball Shooting Track Trouble

Hello everyone, newbie here. Just recently purchased my first pachinko machine (Nishijin, Type B, I think) and having lots of fun with it. The mechanics of the machine seem to work just fine, but when I launch balls they follow the arc of the track until they reach the top of the machine where they all of a sudden seem to become too far from the playing surface. As a result the balls do not fall down on the pins properly and it seems as if about 90% or more end up hitting the plexi-glass then getting stuck along the bottom of the front door frame. I've tied leaning the machine back at an angle when shooting, however it seems to take a pretty big angle before they stay against the surface of the game board.

Is this a common problem? Is it possible that the circular track is bent causing the balls to fall away from the playing surface? Any help would be appreciated...

    First of all, welcome!

Could you post some pics of the upper quadrant of the playing field, trying to capture the part of the ball track where things go awry?

Also, I'm wondering if you have the glass in the rearmost slot (there are 2 and, if only using one, it needs to be the one closest to the playfield).

Two things to check out. First is the position of the plexiglass. When you open the frame that holds the plexi, you will find that it has two slots. This is for two sets of plexi or glass. Make sure the one sheet you have is placed in the slot closest to the machine as your current sheet may be placed in correctly. It really sounds like this is your problem.

As for the tilt, the machines are designed to work with a 2 degree back angle. I have all of mine set for this or as close as I can get them.

As for the slots.. there's lots of debates on what to use and how many to use ect. As far as game play, the machines only need one sheet positioned as described above. Some here prefer glass for that extra 'ting' sounds while other (like myself) prefer the plexi as it's a bit quieter. On all the machines I restore and have up for playing, I put one piece of plexi against the pins and a piece of glass against the front. I think this gives the machines a more 'in parlour' look and feel as the multiple sheets (plexi or glass) prevents players from being able to affect ball movement my pushing on the sheet.

Hope this helps and good luck!

Ok.. a photo or two would be cool too!

Just took a closer look at the plexi-glass and the frame...you guys were correct it was not in the slot closest to the playing field. It works great now and having even more fun. Attached some photos too.

Thanks a bunch! Also impressive with such a quick response!
