It's a 3 part video and the other two parts are uploading now. To see them just click on this link and pick them out from my list of videos. You'll wanna hear the power up sound effect in vid 2.

Earlier in this thread I mentioned having a couple of different sets of game play rules so the player could have some variety. But by the time I had that figured out it was too late to make the changes. I should say it would have resulted in another month or so delay and I was ready to get the machine back to start redoing it even though I've got 3 arepachis in front of this one to tear down and refurb and a Nishijin C. Since the chip in it is programmable, changing/adding rules is still a possibility but that's something I have no idea how to do and will have to send the chip back to the guy and have him do it. That'll be a project for another day a good ways down the road.

I made a new video of the game being played. For this one I have the plastics reattached, cleaned and fixed the coin mech so it will accept coins, and adjusted the plexi so balls no longer get stuck. I play 3 or 4 games and on the last one I manage to get a ball in the top center bonus feature and open the B pocket. It happens so fast that I don't have time to film the coin being spit out or my pressing the B pocket open button.

Pics of the decorative plastic accent on the machine, off, and after refinishing. The center ring around the keyhole will be painted black once I remove the paint that flowed on that area. Unfortunately a small piece broke free during handling as you can see when comparing pics. It was already cracked...

This is a new vid. Instead of having the info spread out amongst 4 or so other vids I deleted those and filmed this one.

a small update on this machine. i haven't played it in quite awhile but recently enjoyed a bunch of games now that it is mounted on the wall and readily accessible. anyway, to recap, this machine came from YJA with no circuit boards so i had some made. the instruction placard didn't fit this machine's game play in that it described a 3 digit LED that "spins" on game start and opens tulips for varying lengths of time depending on what numbers come up. this same feature is on several of my taiyo challengeballs. interestingly, this arrangeball never had nor could be outfitted with an LED display as it is currently so either the factory made one instruction card for this machine and the other model with the LED (which I have seen) or this one was put on accidentally. who knows. anyway, i had to make my own rule set to program the chips with so i made it as close to what i thought was original. in regards to the bonus feature i wasn't too far off the mark i'm pretty sure, now that i've seen quite a few machines with the same type of bonus. basically a ball in the bonus in the original machine lets the player choose which pocket's number lights in the matrix to make a completion. actually, on this satomi a ball in a pocket lights 2 numbers. on mine you can choose the pocket but you don't get the numbers lit. it opens the pocket via a solenoid so that you can then shoot for that pocket. the catch is that you only have 3 seconds to quickly scan the unlit numbers to choose the best option. it's harder than the original setup but you do get a coin paid out for landing in the bonus pocket.

That's a cool pic and I've seen it before. Below is a close up of the cel.
That machine shares the same cel background and is of the same generation as the one I had but has some differences. The person that now has mine has several dozen other arrangeballs which makes him the largest arrangeball owner that I know of but he doesn't post here.
Anyway, the one you posted a pic of has a counter at the top that may spin until the first
3 balls are shot which will cause what I think are trap doors to open for differing amounts of time. This is how Taiyos utilize the counter but instead of trap doors, its very large tulips that open for differing lengths of time depending on what numbers come up.
Of course I could be wrong and the counter may work some other way. I've never seen these features on a Sammy machine in person.
