    Default My new Sin Gin machine

    Saw this and had to have it.(Emailed before it showed up here) Never even met the guy that sold it he just Emailed me and said here is the address, it's on the porch, leave money under the doormat. I did ask in my Email if he knew anything more about it but received no answer to the questions. Came with 209 cool, old(the dark kind), and a bit rusty balls, but couple hours in the tumbler will fix as it is just surface rust.

    Overall the face is very good, just a little dirty.(see ballramp pic for built up crud)

    The back is missing a cover on the upper ball track, a leaf switch(replaced by a regular switch that just turns on the center win light) , and some bits of the mechanism that attaches to the button on the front.(when pressed the arm moves up) Maybe more missing but I have never worked(or seen in person) a machine like this.

    Anyone else have one like this with the Sin Gin logo?

    Would it be a safe bet that it is pre 1961? The front glass does open with a latch like later models but the whole "works" does not open from the frame like the later ones but it is removable it you loosen a couple wing nuts and slide them out of brackets, the top will then tip out and you pull up and out to remove. Anyone know when Japan changed phone numbers from six digits?(see logo pic)

    It has no other markings I have found but the logo and the characters on the tag in the lower left and above the button over the ball hole(I have asked Compirate to translate) No stamps on the back or other production marks. I also see no residue of any registration sticker or anything else like that on the front.

    It is very similar to Moparformances machine as seen here:

    http://www.pachitalk.com/forums/craigs-list-listings/34733-1950s-single-shot-40-lakewood-wa.html

    Moparformances list his as;

    Ginza

    Komura industry co. ltd.

    Could they be made by different makers but from the same mechanism design? Like a designer shopped his plans to several small shops to make them for their own customers?

    Thanks for all the pics. I thought I had seen one like this operating.

    Compirate tells me the symbol in the middle of the logo between the Sin and Gin it the symbol for 'Sin'. (Thanks Compirate)

    It is just another Ginza.

    Why it is not marked Ginza and is only marked Sin Gin is yet one more of a (very) long line of pachinko mysteries.

    If I where to come across a time machine, after meeting Jesus and a beer with Ben Franklin, I would put pachinko history next on my list.

    Now that is a beautiful machine. I love those bold, simple graphics from that era. Much more appealing than the machines from the 80's and newer with their busy, crowded graphics, IMO.
