Wow ,they turned out nice! Now if you don't mind can you ship them back to me?
I didn't pay attention to the design. The cleaning really brought it out.

I ran 200 rusty balls through the tumbler for 2 days last week using the same walnut shells. The rust was completely removed, however most of the balls were badly pitted and some had 'chunks' missing.

Of the balls you cleaned (above), were many pitted?

I guess it depends on how long the balls were wet and/or allowed to rust. The longer they rust, the more pitting and deterioration you will find.

    Thanks!

I had some that needed 2 days in the tumbler, but I sorted by how bad they were and if I had a few that still needed work after dumping a batch then I tossed them into the next cycle.

I had that thing running 24/7 for 2 weeks

Are Pachinko balls chrome plated? If so then they will always rust if the chrome is worn out when bare metal is exposed right? Can a restored ball hold a shine for the same amount of time that I new ball can?

no once the chrome has been worn they will at best have a grey color and not much shine

i understand y others dont use them but i think they are just fine for a vintage..
