    Default basic dongle

I am going to try to repair the basic dongle that my machine came with, but just incase the repair doesn't work, I am wondering if anyone has one they are willing to part with. I am eventually going to get the daverob dongle but at the moment I would just like the basic one so I can get my machine operational.

    FYI-
According to Slots-Pachinko, It is called a CR adapter. They do not like to use the correct computer/electronics related word - DONGLE. Here is their exact words from my emaii: Don't know which crazy person on
Pachi Talk that came up with Dongle. That is a disgusting word.
I did respond and apologize for useing "that" word in my question to them and informed SP it is a common word used in my business as well as millions of others! World is full of sensative people.
    Enjoy your DONGLE!!

Crazy person? On PachiTalk? Now that's a difficult question to answer, there's so many to choose from.

While the proper name for it is a CR bypass adaptor, it is still correct to refer to it using the generic term dongle. The term has been used in computer circles for many years and refers to something that plugs into a connector and doesn't have any other connections to it (apart from a replica of the port it connects to).

The term was most often used to refer to authentication keys for software copy protection, but recently this has changed so that the most common usage is for USB wireless network adaptors (both WiFi and 3G).

I'm quite happy for my Card Reader Emulators to be referred to as a 'daverob dongle', no matter how rude it may sound to people who aren't familiar with the terminology. Besides I've been called a lot ruder things to my face!

Well, All the reference I can find about "dongle" seem to be for copy protection, but anyway, good word or not.. I wonder what slot-pachinko would do if the crazy persons (yes persons, because many here use this word) would be crazy enough to start to look elsewhere to buy pachinkos.

Having a career in software sales, I can tell you than dongle is an acceptable and commonly used term for a hardware key that is tied to a software license. I've heard the term used back as far as the beginning of my career in 1989, when the dongle was commonly connected to the parallel port between the port and the printer. It was an old school DB-25 connector that extended the parallel port.

Haven't seen a parallel printer in a while...and the last two companies I worked for (since 2001) use software keys, but it's still a term used for many USB devices now.

Out of sight out of mind, the Dongle is in the back of the machine and that word don't
    bother me at all.
I always sit at the front of the machine Shooter handle in hand and ready to go.
I think their is another word for Shooter handle, But i cant think what it is at the moment

YAY!!! I got it yesterday and plugged it in and it works!! Man I can't thank you enough!!! I tried to fix the one I had and could not get it to work properly. It would only work if I held the pin in place. Aparently the way the machine was packed ripped the whole connector right out.

Just curious? Did you explain this to Slots-Pachinko(I assume that is who you bought this from, correct?) I had seven bulbs out on my recently purchased machine and they sent new ones. They claim to warranty their stuff? They might send you a new one(or now a back - up )

I sent an e-mail and he told me send it to him and he would send out another one after he received it. I was a little annoyed by this as I had been waiting 2 weeks to get the right machine and finally got it but still couldn't use it. At this rate it would be another week or two before I could play it. I sent him another e-mail to let him know how unhappy I was, and got no response. I will never spend another penny with SP and I will never have anything good to say about them either. This whole process has sucked! I do want to thank the people on this site for being there and coming through when people like me need support.
