    sweeeeeeettttttt!!!

    this gonna be awesome!

Are you gonna use some white vinyl around the numbers too, or you will ignore the white part?

yep. I have some white, too.

this will be another kind of puzzle, since I will be layering in from the front, not back. perhaps cut out the blue and gold for the red/white so that the light will show better.

humm I don't know, do you plan to cut the pieces and place them as puzzle each edges against each others, or the front parts will be smaller, an the bigger parts will be slightly bigger to also cover over the edges of the smaller parts (and maybe glued)?

here's the decal progress. I went with Cal Berkeley colors, so they are darker than original... go bears!

I started with the gold layer. I learned that you spray a little soapy water for big pieces, so you can rub the bubbles out easily.

the blue layer I cut out the EUROMAT area as a window and the de luxe area also. the triangles I hand cut and placed them carefully.

one good thing about this material is that if you totally mess up, you can pull it back off pretty easily.

next thing is the white, which I think I can cut in fine strips and layer down like pin stripes.

I haven't decided about the actual EUROMAT letters. I do have some red, but I am not sure how I will place them without looking imperfect.

also, the see though part with the two rows of numbers might require my cutting through the gold and blue so the light will come though just the red and white.

    will sleep on it.

the bulb covers came. they are slightly rubbery and should be perfect for this machine. they will make the playfield look like the one that tilion drew with the added colors!

woohoo this is so nice and color are vibrant!

hummm.. Now that you have some pattern and technique to rebuild the front glass, you just have to learn to make what's behind the glass and you're gonna be able to start a company selling newly made Euromat

OK, the lovely lady in the star is placed. I sure wish that I knew photoshop... I spent 10 minutes accomplishing nothing in that program, so I went back to graphic converter, a simple image editing program and fixed the red star graphic before I printed.

given the red turned out well from the printer, I think I will print the numbers on paper (printing red squares with white numbers) and stick them in a cut out within the decals.

For some people it's the hunt not the kill. I think you really enjoy the fixing part more than anything else. Keep up the great work and thanks for the pics.

the number strips are on. i cut out the decal material so the light would shine through.

I think that I will trim the window part in gold, since the white is a bit bright.

    almost done. then, the reassembly!

final pix. I had to get the front lexan sheet recut, as it had deep scratches when I took the paper off.

it was tricky to get the plastic to bend in there by myself, but persistence worked.

also, I wanted to show you guys the very cool relay thing that does the counting. it has little fingers that sequentially get tripped, until it counts to 10. the machining is very impressive. very german.

even my electronics guru was impressed with the machine.

there are 3 of these specialized relays, ones, tens and the separate counted hits on the tower.

I am still trying to sort where the free play for 100 points is connected, as there is a way to turn this off/on. once I find it, I will put the coin mech. back on and use the front button just for replays.

new switches came from hong kong finally. will put those on to make the flippers be more symmetric. there is currently one switch that's an outsy and one that has an in-sy button

the bulb covers look really nice, too. I think they are silicone, so they don't melt.

the relays were well hidden under the scratched plastic covers.

it was only b/c I was so curious how they got the counting done without integrated chips that I took the machine to santa cruz to have my guru help me investigate.

he thinks that it would be virtually impossible to find a replacement relay like that nowadays. I wonder if they were used in any other application? I googled the "automation" name and the model number, but nothing came up.

the relay itself is like a fine watch mechanism. I almost want to put it on a stand by itself... guess it's one of those gear head things

if anyone has any ideas where I might find a schematic, I would be interested. googled that, too, without success, but I did not trying to search german websites.

my guru suggested that I reverse engineer one
