    Unhappy Reels

Cleaning my machine and I moved one of the reels a couple of clicks. Will they self calibrate and align automatically? Bye the way you all have been a GREAT help!

Yes, they will "Self align" on the first spin. If you look to either side of the reel cage you will see a tab on the framework that passes through a sensor. That lets the machine know the placement of the reel and will calibrate it to it's correct position.

Clean then with what? My Sindbad its seems the light are a little dim on the reels, but the you tube videos all look dim also. Is it because of the overlay screen?

Cleaning the strips is rather simple: What to use in cleaning the reel strips?

Going to clean it up today and make it shinny! Do any of you recommend cleaning the inside of the LCD screen or leave it alone if its not broke?

I took the lcd screen apart once to clean out a piece of dust that was driving me crazy. Big mistake. I got out the dust but let in a bunch more. unless you have a "clean room" I wouldn't recomend taking apart the screen layers.

I cleaned POPEYE today got it clean and looking nice. But my Sindbad I'm leaving alone. Looks like I'm going to need two new lights for Sindbad they are yellowed. I think this is why the screen does not look bright. Anyone know where I can get these lights? They have wires on them.

They are called cold cathode tubes. Most flat computer screens and LCD televisions have them behind the screen. Newer models have white LED:s. I don't know how easy it is to find exactly same length and model but you could ask service companies who repair computer screens. I have seen bulk parts in various length in electronic part stores (here in Finland...ask Radio Shack or similar). Computer case modders and car tuners also use those (usually color tubes) with 12VDC inverter. That upper part is the inverter so you do need only the tube. If you don't find exactly same model, I think it is not a big job to attach something at the back. Just connect the wires correctly.
