Default Looks like a pretty invasive mod (and EXPENSIVE)

Not a mod for me, for sure....looks like it damages a good portion of the front just to install.

I'd rather call 7mileslots and say "I need another 15,000 tokens please!" heavier, bulkier but doesn't permanently change my machine and CHEAPER!!!!! BTW....how would you EVER be able to try and resell a machine with that mod and figure on getting any of your money back?

In the new issue of the Gameroom Magazine there is an advertisement from a real US Slot Machine dealer that has Slot Machines that are "reprogramed for free play and completely reversible". They claim that "These are REAL Las Vegas style machines. Legal even in the fussy states."

BUT THEY DO NOT SHIP !!!!

Here is their website in case any of you people living in a"fussy state" are curious :

    www.TLGenterprises.com

Oh BTW the price shown is $1199.00 for "Late model Bally slots with coin and bill acceptors"

Over $700, that's insane! You can buy many a tokens for that price. Plus putting the tokens in the machine is part of the fun IMO. :-)

I agree, that price is outrageous.

I like the idea though. For $50 I would buy one.

    Here possibly the manufacture website.

Okay, this is just a silly blurb that they threw in....."No more messy tokens!" Messy tokens?? Isn't that why we wash them before we put them into our machines? Messy is a 2 year old with a bowl of ice cream. Or a 12 year old with an attitude and a finger paints...sheesh.

I don't even know where to begin on bashing this idea but I will try.

First of all, the "key" device system is very costly even in security implementations, that is why you rarely see them.

A much more economical system would be a card scan system (why do you think the casinos use this system for their slot clubs?)

I know from my electronics, security, and computer experience that it would be much, much, easier and cheaper to issue a magnetic card similar to the slot club cards at casinos (or an ATM card). The cards are far less expensive as well as the readers and writers. I could be wrong, but this whole approach seems really silly to me.

Someone please tell me I am wrong. ~spooner

Actually I am; which accounts for the need to be told I am wrong! Something seems amiss if I am right all the time :-) ~spooner
