I was thinking it would be nice to add more lights (white LEDs) to shine light on the actual playing field so I can actually see the balls fall and hit the nails while playing in a dimly light room. Are all the Parlors in Japan brightly lit? I guess I'm used to the American Arcade atmosphere which always has dim lighting. Do some Pachinkos have a lit playing field that can be seen in the dark?

Don't get me wrong I really like my Tomb Raider Pachinko machine I was just thinking if I can find 5v of power I could wire up some white leds.

i know nothing aobut how LED's work or how to hook them up but i have heard lots of complaints about them casting dots where they shine

You're right, LEDs will cast a hotspot on the plastic just in front of their extremity.

What you can do to help eliminate this hotspot is use a fine sand paper and lightly sand the top and (a bit less) the side of the led to get a frosted effect. This will help diffuse the light more evenly across the LED.
