Default Any way to figure out date my pachi was made?

I've done a complete teardown of my machine and am moving soon towards the restoration stage.

I'd really like to know what year it was made, but there are no date stickers. The only number on the whole machine is ink stamped on the wood on the back with 2 Japanese characters. It is a 31. But that (1956) cannot be the date, correct?

It's a Nishijin Model A single shot. Almost all the parts like ball runs, hoppers, etc are metal. There is very little plastic. All except one ball target are chromed, simple buckets, but there is one butterfly.

Based on this info, can anyone give me at least a possible range of dates?

    Thanks!

    Pictures in this thread:

Vintage and modern - $25 each!

I found a machine online that is nearly identical. It is said to be "60s" and there is a picture of the tag stating that it shows the year in Japanese. I don't see anything that looks like a year there, do you?:
