    Default code fff on gamera

    I have a gamera type A and when I hit the jackpot, the lcd will say you win 495, then it says ahh sh#t and coins start dropping. It will drop about 20-30- then it stops and I get the fff code. There are still coins in the hopper. Any Ideas? Thanks

    Has it always had the error since you got it or has it just appeared??

    fff isn't an error code I have encountered before??

    Hopefully another member may know exactly what that one relates to, but in the meantime have you tried emptying the hopper and checking that there are no blockages / jams etc

    or perhaps it just needs a good cleaning??

    well, I just bought this machine a couple days ago. Since Ive had it, I have hit the jackpot 3 times, all three times Ive hit, Ive gotten the fff in the middle game count display. Ive never seen it during normal game play. All i do is turn the machine on and off and it goes away and everything is normal. The only thing I can think of is maybe the machine knows that there is not enough tokens in the hopper to pay the jackpot of 495. like I said fff comes up in the middle display, not the one on the right that error codes normally show up in. thanks for the reply

    Sound like you still have the parlor switches on.
    Inside usually near the power supply you will see two switches like this.
    turn them both off and see if the symptoms go away

    what the switches are for
    Two switches on the power supply:
    - One requires a soft reset at the end of a bonus.
    - The other pays out all tokens at the end of a bonus.

    For these switches in most cases off is in the down or right position. The symbols for off and on are:

    無 = off

    有 = on

    Thanks for the info ebb. Ok so heres an update, I turned the two switches off and played until I got it into the bonus round with 777. It went through all of the normal stuff and at the end it said you get 435. the good news is, fff did not show up, the bad news is, it just didn't drop any tokens. so what I am trying to find out is when it says you get 435, is it supposed to spit out 435 more tokens? Or is it just telling me that I won 435 throughout the bonus round? Thanks again for the help

    fff is a function testing code.Actually you should not be seeing that all all. It indicates the function being tested when the error occurred and what you are supposed to be seeing is the code for the function being tested, not that it is testing a function. The statement reads something like fff E0 and you are supposed to only see the E0 part.
    You probably need to reset the motherboard in your machine. This is not like the usual reset method. It is similar to wiping out the bios settings on your PC motherboard and starting fresh.
    Unfortunately i do not know how to do it on your machine, however, if you can determine that your motherboard does not have a battery backup on it, you should be able to reset it just by disconnecting it from the PS for a while. If there is a small battery on the motherboard then you will need to remove it for a few minutes!
