    Default Tip on Painting

I got this main attraction from the pachinko man, and wanted to paint it after looking at my wife’s sun catchers I went to Michaels and got some Glass Stain paint. I think it came out very well what do you think?

It turned out very well and it would seem like that is a good application for it. High humidity is the enemy of the glass paint and that shouldn't be a problem there. Good idea!!!

that turned out great! I may go back and repaint some of mine where the acrylic just didn't have the depth and gloss like your paint did.

    is this stuff water based?

it probably cannot be use for example where paint is peel-off, because it's semi-transparent? isn't it?

You are right about that, it is translucent so that the sun can shine through it as that is what it was developed for. I guess you'd have to try and get the area cleaned out as much as possible for the best quality application.

Yes it is a translucent paint but a lot depends on you back ground base color, and as well as it covered I believe it will cover just about any color, it was made for clear plastic so color plastic should be not a problem

Ok, you've got to warn me when you are going to pull up 4 year old posts. I didn't know who anybody was.

That is a really good effect. Have to remember that one.

What is your hourly and how long does it take to do mentioned piece? Nice work you do! A short video on your technique with pitfall commentary would be amazingly helpful!

Not to take anything away from Cardwwi's ability, but the plastic pieces on cels are very easy to paint. Each individual area has a raised edge that keeps the paint where its supposed to be and also saves time. Ideally the parts should be removed and propped up if necessary so they're level. If not, set the machine on its back and level it. Then with a small brush or even pipette for larger areas, just drop paint in each area and spread it out. Depending on the type of paint a second coat may be needed but in my experience, that's rare.

This should be easy to do and take no special ability, like emmadog pointed out. I am on the KISS plan find the easy way to do something and share it.
