Well, I've already decided to keep my top on. Also one of Slotter's reviews only talked about the over 35 crowd. Well it'll probably be the 55 crowd and to be perfectly honest, that's not something I want to see.

I think you are right about that Tulsa ! I know I read somewhere that the topless pool area at Caesar's has a older crowd than the Mandalay Bay pool does.

I have stayed at Caesars a few times and it really is quite nice. The ladies that love to shop always love the forums.

Be sure to say hello to Suzy for me @ the Cleopatra Barge :

That place rocks...no I mean it really rocks

Luxor is fun as they have angle shapped rooms and an Inclinator.
Like a Elevator but at an incline. Strange feeling especially after a few drinks.
They also have a bunch of similators that they give you free-coupons to use while you are there. They charge through the nose if you stay elsewhere and just come for the amusement things.

Stay away from the Excaliber. Rooms are large but old and crappy. They advertise like crazy to the CA college kids and the place is always noisy. I don't sleep well there as I keep expecting someone to bust through the door. I always thought it would be cool if you like watching college girls but they tend to hang out in the clubs and are looking for they guys staying at the Venitian or Belliox (Sp?).

Most fun (and best seafood buffet) is at the RIO. ITs a bit far down the strip but there is a free shuttle bus ever 30min between there and Harrahs. Great bar on the top floor. Never stayed there. The palms seems to be the "new" hot place and its right next door.

The old San Remo has now been (or is in the process of) being converted over to the Hooters hotel. Haven't had a chance to see it yet. The rooms at the San Remo were decent but "just a hotel room" without any theme. They were cheap $39/night as they were 1 block off the strip. I often got at least one night of my room comped on check out as I always seemed to have enough points accumulated from losing too much money.

The imperial palace is a dump. Good value at $69 for its central location on the strip. Clean, Never noisy. Just old.

    Hope this helps/

Gotta agree with you on Luxor. We stayed there after it first opened and never really felt comfortable with those angled windows to the room etc. We and all the friends we know that have stayed and gambled there have had nothing but bad luck. Recently my girlfriends son proposed to his girlfriend there and you got it = they broke up a couple months later. But it is truly a must see just from what the interior looks like and the river etc.

The Rio is nothing short of fantastic! We haven't stayed there but the Casino and the show they run on the Casino floor and above it is a lot of fun. We have had good luck playing there and they seem to get the newer slots than the other casinos. The pool area seems a bit cramped but that might have been because when we checked it out it was hopping with young couples. Talk about sights to be seen !! BTW the Rio is not on the strip and a shuttle from Harrahs would be a good idea unless you cab it($).

We are really looking forward to seeing Wynns Hotel. And with Aruze being associated somewhat with it, the japanese influence could be quite interesting.

Going out again in June and can't wait. Got my tickets a few weeks ago ORD to LAS AA $165 RT + Tax. Compared to 309 for similar flights on UAL, I think I did pretty good.

A few observations from what I have read in the last few posts. Refer to my other posts in this thread if you want more.

I have stayed at RIO but that was some time ago. Before their last major expansion. The room we had, in the old section of the building, was excellent. Very roomy with large beds, sectional sofa, table and chairs and a window from the shower that overlooked the rest of the suite. Full dressing area separate from the tub and shower area also. The room also had lots of good features. Don't know what they offer now. I have heard that there were some changes per post 9-11 issues and health concerns. They had coffee makers and fridges in the rooms, Don't recall if they had Microwaves or not. They do have safes in the rooms also. Something that would really be useful. I try to go there when I can as it is a great place to go. The Carnival Buffet is, or was, excellent last time I was there. For steaks and prime rib etc. American Grill is a must for a nice dinner. The show in the sky is cool and last time we were there, they had a band and little mardi-gras parade strolling through the casino. The pool is cool also with a beach and waterfall.... They also have top name shows and entertainers. Penn and Teller, Tony and Tina's Wedding, Chippendales for the women (???) etc. See www.harrahs.com and click on the RIO link for more information.

Palms is not exactly, "Next Door" to RIO. You have to cross a street that is often very busy and is the case with many Las Vegas Properties, Especially where they consider Strip and OFF Strip, a hotel can be "Next Door" and still be a mile walk from door to door. To go from your room to the doors going out to the strip at MGM, in fact, can be more than a mile walk. I am not kidding. From RIO to Palms, you have to cross, I think it is Valley View. You have to go up to the corner and cross at a light. Then cross Flamingo Blvd. That is a bit of a walk but, I guess, not too bad. Especially if weather isn't bad (HOT). Or, you can cross mid block and take some risk with traffic. Then you have to cross Flamingo Blvd at another light. Cutting accross the Gold Coast property you might save a little distance, Then you cross at the light at the end of the Gold Coast and cross right at the driveway at Palms. But, as I was sayinig, you have to cross mid block with, sometimes heavy, traffic. Been to Palms once and was impressed with it. I want to go back again and spend more time there. I usually stay over at The Orleans which is a sister property of Gold Coast. They have shuttles between them and their other property, in the area, The Barbary Coast, on the strip. Shuttles go every 15 minutes and are very convenient. I can go from Orleans to Gold Coast and do the reverse as I said above, and go over to RIO or just cross at the one light and go right to the door at Palms. That would be a very convenient trip. One that, like I said, I intend to do again.

There is something I like about staying Off Strip. (RIO, PALMS, ORLEANS). You don't have the hussle and bussle of the strip. You can go back to your room at night, and like was mentioned about Excalibur, and other crowded and rowdy strip properties, sleep well not fearing that some drunk will come busting through your door. Go down to the pool and relax without a huge crowd. Check their website, www.orleanscasino.com They have all the major attractions of other hotels, Orleans Arena with Boxing, Concerts, Events, ECHL Hockey (Las Vegas Wranglers), in season. They have a showroom with top name entertainment, (Neil Sedaka, Vicki Lawrence and Mama and Bobby Vinton listed on the "Entertainment" main page). Smothers Brothers, Gordon Lightfoot, Rich Little, Air Supply... are a few other coming attractions that jump out at quick look. Some fine restaurants, a poker room that is reputed to be one of the best in town, 70 lane bowling center, 18 screen movie theater and so on. Some of the newest and best slots and best Video Poker in town. Good low and affordable limits, last time I was there. Plenty of $5 blackjack where, on the strip, you might be challenged to find a seat at a table for less than $25. Then, when you are interested and ready for some excitement, take the free shuttle down to the heart of the strip and stroll around. Now with the Las Vegas Monorail, www.lasvegasmonorail.com you can really get around. Or, take a cab or rent a car. With quick access to I-15 you can go downtown to Fremont Street Experience or Golden Nugget, Fitzgeralds, 4 Queens, Binions.... or take a day trip out to Valley of Fire, Red Rock Canyon or The Dam and Lake Mead.

Not to put down the strip or downtown, there is tons to do in the other areas and I do try to divide up my trips amongst them. I, personally like to stay "Off Strip for the slower pace and better affordability. I got something from Orleans the other day for about $59 a night.

Caesars is a good choice and is among a small handful of places I wouldn't mind staying if I were to stay on the strip. Among those places would ALSO include Mandalay Bay, Bellagio or Venetian (If I were to hit something really big and want to splurge), Mirage, and probably The Wynn.

Definately, when out there in June, The Wynn is one of the top of my list of places to go. Newly opened casinos and Hotels are always a must see.

Yep the Rio is something special. As far as walking from Casino to Casino it is a foot burner:burnout: on the Strip. But if you are young and in real good shape it won't be as bad as us old guys make it sound. Harrahs to across the street to I think it's The Mirage(?) from Casino to Casino I think was almost a mile to mile and a half.

I agree seeing the newest Casinos are a must and we will be there right after Wynns opens

The Orleans has a beautiful showroom and the top name entertainment is top name primarily to us older folk. We really enjoy seeing the headliners there also but if you are in your 30's or below it is likely that you will be happier spending your money on some of the other shows that actually are on the strip as some of these headliners even tho they are still very entertaining are getting a little long in the tooth as they say.... But they do get some events in their arena that will please you youngsters out there:burnout:

If anyone plays this video slot by IGT...please post a report as to where you played it and how you liked it. (1 cent max play 3.00 megajackpot machine).
The Stardust Hotel sent us a brochure announcing that they have it but I am sure it is widespread by now.

From what I have read about it has more than just one bonus game etc. I wonder if the new Wynns will have it? How soon is someone going to Vegas? It would be nice to hear about Wynns and also what infuence Aruze has had on it as far a decor and maybe Pachislos/Pachinkos???

Hoping to get a Northtower room facing the mountains as I think Bilko said. There is just something abut downtown thats magical, maybe its the loose slots??

I agree and we have decided that whenever we go to LV for now on we will be staying downtown. Whenever there is a new Hotel-Casino/Show on the Strip we will check it out but still keep downtown as our base as downtown offers so much for so little of walking around plus no driving(critical whan you have had all those tall ones from La Bayou !)

The last I heard was that Wynn's opens April 29th ?
