It is hard to get pictures inside the casinos because of restrictions on photography in gaming areas. It is up to the casinos and some are more tolerant than others. Some of the reasons are player privacy and some concern for casing security systems and so on. My interior pictures are inside malls hallways or lobbies where gaming (gambling) isn't taking place.

I stayed at RIO long before I had a digital camera. Pictures that I have of the rooms are on film and never have been converted into the computer. Also, the "Show in the Sky" or Mardi Gras Parade takes place over the casino so I have never taken pictures of it. It might be the kind of thing you can get away with if you are aiming toward the ceiling. Have never tried it though. The Venetian and Bellagio shots were taken inside the entrances but not in the casinos themselves.

As for Wynn, don't know when it is supposed to open. With my next trip coming up in June, it would be good, I guess to look into it and see when they are going to open. Will check here quick and see.......... Do a GOOGLE search for Wynn Las Vegas. There are a few links, one with 400 pictures(?) that along with other vegas pictures includes many of Steve Wynn and some detailing the project. WOW! Here is the official website that says opening Spring 2005

    http://www.wynnlasvegas.com/introducing.html

Don't know what Spring 2005 means though. April? May? Many casinos have announced openings to be delayed 3 or more months from their announced openings. Thus I would expect anytime from April to, maybe August. Hopefully before I go out there in June. If so it will definitely be on my hit list for things to do.

Visited a friend that was staying at Stardust last June. Here was the progress at that point.

It is on the old Desert Inn property. Across from Frontier and Stardust. You can see Venetian up and to the right. Note though that while it doesn't look that far from Venetian, it is an incredible walk. I remember, years ago, walking down to Desert Inn, actually Riviera and stopping at DI. It was a REALLY REALLY long walk from Barbary Coast where I got off of an Orleans Shuttle. Distances can be LOOOOOOONG and deceiving. Now there is a tram that runs on that side of the strip that runs from Sahara up to MGM, I think. It has been down due to mechanical difficulties. Don't know if the system is up and running again. Check out the "Las Vegas Monorail" http://www.lvmonorail.com for information. According to the website it seems as though it is running again.

The monorail was down late last year because of mechanical problems. But they REALLY wanted it fixed in time for the International Consumer Electronics Show in January. (140,000 extra people to move around!)

It was up and running by the beginning of January when I was there for the show.

Talk about distances! Have you ever noticed the design of Treasure Island. Each hotel room has a huge window that matches up with the window on the floor below. This makes each pair of 2 floors look like only 1 floor. So when you look at TI from a distance it looks much closer. You say to yourself, "That's not far, I can walk there." By the time you're half way there, and it's too late to turn back, you figure out that's it's A LOT farther away than you thought.

That building really sucks you in.

I would revise your last comment, on your signature I think. The only way to win is to buy a pachislo. For what I loose every time I go to a boat in Illinois, I could have bought a Pachislo. I could just sit at home and play all night and not loose another dime.

But then, I suppose it wouldn't be the same as playing a 20 in a quarter slot and walking away with 400. But then again, How often does that ever happen. :-?

You're better off at home with the Pachislo's! 8-) More fun anyway.

That's exactly what I had in mind. Own your own casino. The only way most of us can afford to do that is with pachislos. Can you imagine the cost of having 30 real slot machines (even used ones) in your basement? Not to mention that fact that in many states (including mine) that would be illegal.

Real slots can be very expensive, but those of you that have the IGT Harley could have purchased a real used slot for a little more! :-)

Haven said all this, I beleive slots are illegal in PA, but I would eventually like to have at least one.

The only way I get away with having any real slots is by having antiques - an old Mills and a Jennings. Of course slots that are old enough to be antiques usually aren't all that much fun.

    Gary,

Will you please, oh please, with sugar and cherries on top...post more photos of your gameroom? I know you've done some revisions and I'm dying to see them.

Now I've got the Tom Jones collection playing in the background. Heh, I don't even like Tom Jones, but its really cool seeing the look on peoples' faces when they come into my apartment...blinking Pachislo (Pach-eee-slow..what?) machines, Arcade ambience CDs playing in the background, liquid light projector on the wall, Flashing Neon signs, an Arcade cabinet (with every game known to man on it), and Tom Jones singing "It's Not Unusual" in the background over the surround sound stereo.

LOL...the look on their faces is worth every penny...and then I hand them a cup of tokens and say, "Have fun." When the tokens are gone...time for them to leave. Nice.

The funniest part was when I asked my wife what she thought of the "setup"...she looked at me and replied..."I am NOT dressing up like a cocktail waitress."

Darn, that just ruins the whole atmosphere.

I was going to take some new shots this weekend, but then I ended up getting 3 new machines, which are due in next week. So I spent the time rearranging things to make room for the new machines and put off the photos until next weekend. Also picked up some new neon last week when Davis and I went to DACA. And found a blow out sale on animated neon at Walmart.

I will get some shots posted soon - promise.

Thank you everyone for your input. I sat the wife down today and had her read this thread. So she notices that everyone is basically suggesting the Golden Nugget. Cool, 4 nights at $280. I like that price.

So she turns to me and says.. " Caesars Palace, they have shopping."

Well, I guess Caesars Palace it is then... After all, I completely understand how my bread gets buttered.

Hmmm.... was it the shopping that caught her eye???

    Or the topless pool?

Point that out... tell her she can shop while you just lounge around the pool.

20 to 1 she picks the Nugget... and you'll save money on both the lodging AND the shopping!

<>I have stayed at both Caesars Palace and the MGM Grand. I was not hassled at the 'topless' pool at either hotel. Similar to others, my experience was there were a limited number of topless women and a few gawkers. The crowd at MGM seemed more uptight the three days I was there - the guests at Caesars were more discreet and a bit more indifferent.

My husband and I enjoyed the Moorea club at the Mandalay Bay hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. I enjoyed being topless for two days. About 40% of the women are topless. Get there early on Friday and Saturday it fills up by 10 am.

Our vacation to Vegas was earlier this month and we stayed at the MGM Grand and Mandalay Bay hotels. They are now topfree at their smaller pools and my wife felt very comfortable and had plenty of topfree company while at both properties. CaesarsÂ’ Palace also has a topless pool and I hear most of the other large hotels are soon to follow.

    --Terry, Denver, Colorado

    7/04

Just returned from Las Vegas and of course we stayed at CaesarÂ’s. Sad to say no more than 6 of us being topless out of about 30 women. Also for a time I was the only one topless. There were communication companies having a seminar for the week and of course they just had to take the short cut thru the topless pool. This may have discouraged more from enjoying topfreedom.

    --Kris, Chicago, Illinois

    2/04

My wife and I stayed at Caesars Palace and visited the Venus pool. The whole time we were there we saw very little top freedom. We got to the Venus pool early and my wife wanted to go to the topless section so she could lay out topless. It was very quiet and we saw two other women topless and my wife felt very comfortable removing her top. However, as the day progressed those two women left and more and more people came down and no one else removed their tops, and for good reason. It seemed like everyone in the hotel hears about the topless pool and parades through, we actually saw men come in and pretend to read the paper, two other men sat down next to us at the pool in their suits, and we saw another guy at the other pool area scanning the area with his video camera (although there are signs everywhere saying photography around the Venus pool is prohibited). I thought that if my wife was the only topless woman there, that would encourage more women to shed their tops, but that was not the case. If you are shy and want to sunbath topless, our advice is to get to the pool early and to find a place toward the back. There are two entrances in the front and this is where everyone walks through for their quick look. We went back the next day and did not see anyone topless and my wife did not feel comfortable removing her top.

Caesar's Palace is the only place to stay while in Vegas. The Venus pool makes it the number 1 spot. This year we have been there twice mid June and early Sep. and it was very hot and sunny both times. Most of the women there were topfree at some point, myself both in and out of the water . Where else can you go for 3 or 4 days and enjoy topfreedom without leaving the States?

    --Kriss, Chicago, Illinois

My girlfriend and I recently spent a week in Las Vegas while I was attending a convention. On the last day there, we went to Caesar's Palace and were able to talk our way into the pool area. We visited Venus' Pool and found a very nice pool for swimming laps. When we arrived there were about 15 people there and only one woman was topless. My girlfriend shed her top and we proceeded to go swimming and play in the pool. Over the next three hours, the number of people at the pool increased to about 50 and about 10 of the women were topless. Those who were and those who were not mingled easily and everyone seemed to have a good time. The age group was mainly over 35 with some mature couples. Only a couple of the young women would go topless, even though they were wearing thong bathing suits. There are floats available and several of the women, my girlfriend included were laying on them sunning themselves. Getting by the security guards at the entrance to the pool is the trick if you are not staying at the hotel. However, it can be done. It probably helps if you are a couple of young good looking single women, as we met a couple of French girls who were not staying in the hotel. The Venus Pool is set off from the rest of the pools, however there is minimal cover between the pools and no one seemed to mind anyone walking around. The sign at the door to the pool area says that all of the pools are tops optional, however the hotel management requests that those who want to be topless use the Venus Pool. We are looking forward to our next trip to Vegas.

I find your comment about trying to tell us you were surprised that Caesars has a topless pool very interesting . Take a look at my post number 13 in this thread where I mentioned that it has one. I remember you saying that you felt it wouldn't be appropiate for an anniversary trip "As far as the topless part goes. Not really our style".... yeah right !!...you sure had us fooled for a day or two...

    Enjoy your visit
