Parts not tin after all...
So, looks like those bins and such on my old Nishijin A single shot aren't tin. They're tin-plated steel.
In this case, after I bead blast and polish them, I'm thinking a good treatment with gun bluing would make for a nice effect and a reasonable level of protection. Give it that Old West look.
