    Default Tarzan theme Model C

Picked this up on the side of the road with a free sign. Interesting "politically incorrect" natives with the bone thru the nose. Featuring Tarzan and the oft repeated Monkey theme. Thanks for all the great info.

As requested, here's some more pics. I had a el-cheapo plastic pachinko machine when I was a kid. I was pumped to find this one on the curb, even came with a jar of balls. I put in some new glass. put some sheet metal and foam to keep the balls from overrunning themselves on the back of the machine. I'm open for suggestions for a better fix for the trigger for the launch lever (see black electrical tape shown in picture, it falls off occasionally and we just push it back on). I'm also a little short on balls (just bought more on Ebay) so I have a binder clip holding down the tab in the top tray so I can play longer before transferring balls back to the top feeder.

I had power hooked up the the lights but they were so anemic I figure it's not worth the trouble.

It is a late 70's machine, the expiration date is a code #56 which I believe indicates 1980's. Nishijin Super D-X.

Congratulations! Your "new" pachinko looks to be in pretty nice condition, especially considering the price!

The Tarzan graphics are both colorful and fun. It is interesting how often the political-correctness of various products/publications varies based on the country of origin and that country's political environment in the year of manufacture. My guess is that the graphic design was an innocuous attempt to capture the spirit of the "Lord of the Jungle" theme. It's certainly far less offensive than many of the books, cartoons, advertisements, etc. printed during long-past years here in the USA! We all want to be respectful of others -- but I say enjoy the machine and don't worry too much about potential misinterpretations of the details.

I am also looking for a replacement shooter handle, I'll be sure to let you know if I find a good source (I'm hoping to find someone with cheap 'spare' parts lying around).

    Welcome!

can you do a closeup of the electrical tape and what it's fixing?

I have a C and have gotten pretty good at fabbing parts these days.

Here's a pic of the piece I am calling the trigger for the ball feed. I have purchased stuff from shops that make "rapid prototypes". You email them a 3D CAD model and they mail you back the parts. The stuff I had made was pretty small and cost $80 each. I also wonder if people have tried to cast their own parts.

Do you have a name for the company that makes those rapid prototypes?

Bill down at Vintage Pachinko has some replica parts available for purchase. He uses good parts as a mold and makes copies that you can use to replace broken parts with. I also think Mudfud has tried making some.

I would like to replicate upper ball trays (rear). Those seem to be the parts that get broken first. I've seen Bill's front trays on his site. Too pricey. Small parts and track covers might not be too hard to replicate.

Thought about making a mold for the upper tray but its an odd size. I'd also have to come up with one thats universal fit. Maybe I'll make one out of tin and rivet it or solder it together. Like I have tons of time to do that.

    Another source is inventapart.com
I heard it is $100 for as many parts you can fit in a 4"x4"x3" volume. Note partial hearsay but could be worth checking into if you're going to try it.

yes. it is really broken because occasionally the piece of black tape falls off and I have to pick it up and push it back on.
