Default Old Nishijin A - pics and questions

Well, I learned the inner workings of my Model B and Comet II during restoration. I've now acquired an old crusty Model A single shot. Haven't figured out the year yet. Lots of metal where I'm used to seeing plastic. There will be a lot of rust removal from all metal innards, followed by nickel plating in my garage.

So, the Model A, with the 2 bins, the single shot mechanism, etc, is completely foreign to me. And being all jammed up and nonfunctional, it's difficult to figure out what everything is supposed to be doing.

I'm wondering if there's a shortcut here somewhere that I'm missing (for this and other machines) in the form of pictures of the backs with parts labeled and explained, etc. If not, I think that would be a nice thing for the site to start collecting.

Below are links to a couple pics (not attached as I wanted the images to be big enough to look at). I know it's a lot to ask, but any info on what I'm looking at would be greatly appreciated.
I could accumulate it all and create an all-in-one guide for this machine and post it, once I understand it.

Remember, I may be thoroughly addicted, but I'm still a noobster at this.

As always, thanks to all of you. Without you, I wouldn't be having so much fun with this

Tried to capture entirety of back here:

I have no idea what this mechanism cluster is supposed to be doing. It is tied to the "switch" above the single ball insert hole on the front. Everything is jammed up and barely moving:

the second pic os of the jackpot seesaw.. it allows one winning ball at a time to cycle threw the payout cycle..

some of the early single shots had a capture area to hold winning balls.. then the player fliped the lever on the fron near the point where balls are inserted.. when the player trips the lever a single ball will start the payout cycle..

    good luck to ya...

    hey siouxz,

I did a video of that machine. take a look, as it might answer your questions.

YouTube - pachinko - nishijin A single shot seashells

the A's came with 3 lights sometimes, like this one, where the spare jackpot balls could get stored for later payout. I had to rewire b/c someone cut off the bulb to the bottom seashell.

    and here was the thread.
