    Default states out lawing pachislo

I live in Idaho and in mid January the state made it a misdmeanor to own a pachislo machine. Costco in twinfalls was selling about 10 per week(my son in law works there). They sited the machines were too easily converted to accept quarters. costco offered a full refund to anyone who purchased a machine from them they got 1 return. However i was at a farm and ranch store the other day and they had 3 (399.00).This state is sooooooo lame. Are there any other states doing this?

That's very discouraging and the same thing can happen in ANY state if the guys in power decide their precious gambling revenues might be affected.

Had Costco not sold them I bet no one would have even cared.

    This is sad and discouraging.

I guess one thing the Pachinko's have going for them is balls.

That brings up a point that I would use if need be in court. What is the difference between a Japanese Token, a small silver ball or a peanut? None of them have any value when won.

Why is a Pachinko legal? What if I converted my Pachislo to spin the reels each time I inserted a peanut into it? Is a credit worth more or less than a token? What if I took the coin mechanism out completely and it worked on just credits? Is that legal?

    Idiot politicians...

Well if they're going to use the argument that it's easily converted to use money, even if it's not converted, my car can go faster than any posted speed limit but yet I can still buy the car... :-?

Leave them leagal and write a ticket to anyone caught using it with real money... Seems simple enough.

In PA it's legal to brew your own beer and wine for your own general consumption. I don't know about OK though. When I lived in Tulsa, I could never understand that a dry state (only 3.2 beer is legal), like OK, you could buy it on every corner gas station (QT, Git-n-go, Circle K, Texaco, etc)? I couldn't drink that stuff, it tasted like skunk beer. I would only buy the imports at the liquor stores because they were regular strength.

The only reason you can purchase beer in those places, is our legislature has made the profound determination that 3.2 beer is a non-intoxicating beverage. :-? However you can't drive with an open beer in your hand.

Up until the mid-eighties we had only liquor by the wink laws. You had to have your own bottle in a bar (by law) and they could provide the mixers. Of course no one actually paid any attention to that it, but that was the law. We still have some dry counties where this is active.

    Welcome to the Bible Belt.
