Default New oak cabinet/Sanyo Daruma... Done!

Well, despite my insistence on obtaining a "new," somewhat crusty machine to show off in my freshly constructed oak cabinet, and staying up all last night and tonight to restore it, it's finally done

Tomorrow I replace the Plexiglas with real glass, then I'm out of excuses. Time to sit down in the also freshly restored, groovy 70s lab chair, and Pachinko myself into a stupor

In the first pic, with the ball catcher door open, you can see a ring hanging from the right on the inside. This is my afterthought door unlocking mechanism. Work great!

The machine sure cleaned up nice. I'm shocked. I think the most valuable tool for restoring these (this is my second in as many weeks) is a Mr. Clean Magic Sponge. Works great on restoring plastic and metal finishes-- gentle but highly effective, polishing as you go. BTW, polishing 500 nail heads was really fun (okay, not so much).
