Not sure if its been covered, but i read on a site recently that someone wanted to convert the belly glass of their Pachi to led by shoving a set of white LED christmas lights in. BAD IDEA! Can anyone back me up on this? This is great for noobs!

I'm not sure how good it would look..but if it looked ok I'm not sure what the problem would be...Inexpensive, low power consumption, low heat..

Now white led xmas lights decorating a house, thats another story..I hate LED xmas lights, so ugly..

My Bro-in-law put the white LED lights around his house. They look awefull. They are very Grey and depressing. no "shine" that you get from a traditional light set.

Another note on LED outside...If you are in an area that snows, the lights do not produce any heat to melt the snow and ice off. If they get covered with snow, you can't see them well. This is happening in cities that replaced trafic lights with LED. the city has to go around and brush/scrape all the snow and ice off the traffic lights because there is no heat to melt it.

I do however like color LED lights, and I too have thought about putting them around my old pachinko. That has already been mentioned here. as for putting them behind a belly glass of a pachislo, I don't think you would achieve the "glow" that you would want. It would probably show "points" of light instead.

I recently experimented with this myself and in my opinion it stinks. When I put them behind a couple of reels the reels just seemed ugly to look at. You can't beat the incandescent light. The reels glow properly and look natural.

While I haven't tried LEDs in my pachislos yet, I've done a couple pinball machines in LEDs and they look incredible! Huge difference that makes any pinball machine look much better!
