My guess is that will be your delivery man... they covered for him once by saying it was never on his truck. He just didn't feel like lifting heavy items today.

I agree with Tank... INSPECT THE BOX!!!

open the box before you leave and take a digital camera with you !!!!! bring along the boyfriend so he can tackle you if nescessary. no guns no baseball bats and make him carry the knife to open the box where you can't reach it easly.

 you guys got the boyfriend giggling away over here with the 'tackle if necessary', and 'keep sharp objects out of reach of short women' thing....anyhow.....I will CERTAINLY bring my son's digi-cam along...fool me once, shame on me.....fool me twice, I have a size 9 steel toed boot ready to be implanted so far up a sphincter, it'll have to be surgically removed. :smt075 Anyhow.....TY so much for your advice, support for my addiction, and amusing takes on even the most irritating of things (damaged/late/misshiped goods)!!!!! You're keeping me sane...or maybe it's the boyfriend spoonfeeding me and the cat pudding to try to calm my nerves? :smt043 :smt082
Oh, and the machine I'm waiting on is the Marine Carnival. Hanabi Hyakkei should be here (thru UPS) in about 6 months or so........ :smt092

Once again I have to say that my UPS driver is not the problem. He is actually an honorable man and has pointed out box damage to me in the past even though it could get him in trouble with the company. I tried to tip him once when he carried in 4 machines, but he totally refused it.

I am not defending the company, but the individual drivers can be cool.

Once again this is just my 2 cents worth. ~spooner

I have a machine that was supposed to be delivered today by Fedex and according to the tracking it has been on a delivery truck since 5:25 am. I have no clue what is going on. I called and it said it was still at a different location on the fedex phone line. So I guess I wait till Monday to get my machine or I will just go get it myself over the weekend.

Ouch! Don't you hate that! It is the weekend and you are expecting a new machine and it doesn't show? Damn, I know I hate that feeling!

Hang in there cseajs ... I've heard that good things come to those who wait ... or something like that  ~spooner

I'm too slick for 'em...no cuffs for me!!!! I went down to the UPS terminal, and waited along with a dozen or so other vechicles for the big brown truck to roll in....I parked my van NEXT to the rear end of the truck (and ticked off most of the people there, but HAHA! I didn't care), and waited my turn.....I noted the truck number did NOT match that of the guy earlier, and figured the driver isn't at fault, unless HE (or she) loads as well as unloads....anyhow, I got my package, the UPS guy offered to help me get it to my van (5 feet away), but my testosterone laden son intercepted...I didn't blow up at ANYONE tonight....I was a GOOD girl!!! I got the machine.....it's NOT as nice and clean as the Lucky Cats was (from Milt), but I need time during daylight hours to check if everything is working on it. The door seems sort of loose on the hinges, but that seems to be about it at the moment. I need to get a coily lanyard like the other machines have, a token bin, and more TOOOOOKENSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!! (again)

One day when UPS was delivering a game to me, I asked him if he would like to see what what comes in those huge unwieldy boxes.

I showed him my gameroom and his eyes lit up like people do the first time they walk into a casino. He thought the games were great.

Or maybe it was that batch of Christmas cookies that my wife made that we shared with him that let him know we appreciate his careful handling of our shipments.

Whatever it was, I get white gloves treatment of my boxes when they get to his truck.

I had a similar experience with my UPS driver. I showed him the machines and he was also impressed. After that he has pointed out shipping damage, etc. before it comes off the truck which he is not supposed to do. Like I have said before, the driver has always been great to me. The damage seems to occur before he gets the shipment.

I think it is a great idea to let the delivery people see what they are dealing with. ~spooner

Unfortunately for me....that would mean that the driver (FedEx OR UPS) would have to come up a flight of stairs to even SEE what he's delivering..fat chance, if they can't even get the loads right...

My Fed-ex guy is great. Always helpful and even calls me if theres an issue and I'm not at home for the delivery. The UPS guy is just looking for a reason to skip it and go on down the road.

Well, UPS down by me is getting a call tomorrow about their junky service...I could let them know that a) I don't appreciate being uninformed about my package "MIA" b) I'm paying for THEM to provide a SERVICE, and thus expect some quality control....and c) if this happens to me again, I'll be MORE than happy to 1) post the entire, sordid incident on this talk forum for 600+ members to read (where a LOT of machines get shipped every day) 2) will e-mail EVERYONE I know and tell them that UPS has substandard service, go with FedEx or USPS or some other carrier (Candy's Camels, Frank's Freight, etc)..
Best way to get/lose business is WORD OF MOUTH...
I normally wouldn't bother, but that was bogus last week, and I'll be getting my HH shipped hopefully later this week...I don't need a REPLAY of that!

also email the big three news networks and FOX too!

Spread it around like cow pies in the field, or beer at a frat party.
