Default My First - And Vintage to Boot

I've always been enthralled by Pachinko, but the guitar player in my band lured me into the hobby of owning Pachinko machines. The first time we ever practiced at his place, I couldn't stay away from his Pachinko machines. This fed into my fascination that I had already developed over two trips to Asia where I visited several Pachinko parlors. Eventually, he convinced me to buy my own.

I did finally step up and bought a machine; and a vintage one at his suggestion (much easier to fix and maintain yourself).

I bought No More War (the first one - there were several editions of this machine apparently). I had the machine shipped to me, but it arrived in good condition. The plastic faceplate is broken, but that's easily fixed. Otherwise, the only issue is that the chutes by the airplane (unfortunatley I'm having difficulty uploading pictures, but I'll keep trying) don’t really pay out consistently. I had that problem with the other payoff chutes, but after putting about 2000 balls through it, it cleaned the junk out that was slowing payout. Unfortunately, the plane chutes still have the payout problem. Suggestions would be appreciated in this respect.

Overall, I can say that I love the machine so much I'm already acquiring another in the next week.

I use Slip2000 for the actuators and moving parts in my restorations and it works very well (not in the sphere paths!) to protect metal over time and will not cause harm to plastics. Resist the urge to use WD-40! It can stain the cell (face), attracts dust and turns into gummy gunk later on down the road.

Any way to get rid of stains that are already on the cell face? Mine has a fair amount of it. It doesn't inhibit play, but it certainly isn't attractive.

Also, I've got the payout working about 95% of the time after cleaning what can get to with my vacuum.

Got the broken Plexiglas replaced - that was real easy thanks to a very helpful gentleman at Lowes. (It's kind of cool to note that when I told him what the Plexiglas was for, he told me all about his father who worked for Chicago Coin - an old arcade game manufacturer)

Anyway, it's in and looking great. I ordered some of those miracle cloths and then I hope I can get the machine ship shape. All the better as I just had my niece pick me up another machine near where she lives, so I'll be sure to post pics and impressions of that one when I get a hold of it.

Welcome, You can try to recover the face or leave it as is. It looks like an old machine like it should. I kind of like the "vintage Look"

I recovered one of my machines because I hated what was on it, not because of damage. I wouldn't have been hapy with it left alone, but yours is a cool theam.

    Just one boys opinion.

Are you sure you don't get "kickbacks" from Miracle Cloth?

I'm finding that as I go about cleaning and running balls through my vintage that it is starting to "behave" as normal.

I hope that with all the vintage machines I purchase it will be this easy to correct.

I don't get anything for bringing up the Miracle Cloth it's just that the product works . It's hard nowadays to find something that works as advertised .
