Default Nishijin Sophia Elex Rotary Super DX wiring question

    Hi All -

First post here and I'm really hoping you can help me.

I have an Elex Rotary Super DX that's been sitting in my basement for years. Now I'm in the process of building my "man cave" and have asked my contractor to install for me. I've got a great wall where I'll have access to the front and back of the machine.

The question I currently have is - are there any wiring diagrams available for this unit online? My wife is Japanese and can read the sticker on the back regarding the voltage, but there's no information on actually physically wiring it up. All we can tell is that we'd need a transformer to get the voltage down to either 10v or 24v.

I'd really appreciate any pointers on this specific model.

    Thanks!

    Paul

A picture would be a plus.

Does it have a shooter knob or flipper lever? If a knob it may need 24VAC for that and 10VAC for the lights.

Flipper lever. I spotted a photo of one just like it online. I'll try to dig it up. It has the number 13 in the corner.

    Thanks!

Here's a photo of it. It's not actually lit up, there's a window in the room behind it.

    Thanks!

The lights run on low voltage (a/c or d/c I think), a 9V transistor battery will power the lights. For a permanant instalation, all you need is a 9, 10, 11 or 12 volt "wall wart" type plug in transformer. Get them by the bunch at your local flea market/tag sale/boot sale for a dollar.

I guess the big question is - where do you actually connect up the wiring. I see 3 connectors on the back - yellow, white and orange. But I have no idea what is hot, neutral or ground from those.

Below those 3 connectors is a 3 pin plastic plug as well.

Any ideas? I don't want to burn anything out.

    Thanks!

Thanks! That's exactly what I was looking for.

Now I only have 1 more question - is there a place to get a spare key to open the front - or a way to pick the lock? This unit had no key, and it'd be nice to get in the front to clean it.

    Thanks again!

You can open the front glass by moving the levers/bars (up or down) that are located directly behind the lock on the back side.

Once the front is open you can open the shooter door (lower door) by pushing the metal lever/plunger at the top rear of the shooter door. Opposite the hinge side.

Keys for vintage machines are few and far between. Sometimes you can disassemble the lock and remove the guts so any key will work. Use the search function and you will find everything you need to know about locks.

Looks like the basketball machine, yes? I have that one - very cool.

Just a 9v battery: plus goes to white (center post), minus to orange (right post) on C models.

Regarding the key, I took the whole lock assembly off of the door and brought it to a locksmith and he made a key for it with no problem.

These aren't exactly the most high-tech locks ever invented if ya know what I mean,

Here's a couple of photos (moparguy likes photos, LOL!)

I usea a 9vy batt and a Radio Shack 9vt batt connecter as last for a couple years as only works for a second or to each time
These are my opinions and no body elses and you can't have them
