Default Archimede's Screw ball lifter -- show me?

    Hi Pachinko Maniacs:

I'm a newbie to the group, and a newbie as an owner of these beautiful machines. My wife is a bit concerned since she knows what happens when I take on a new hobby. Go all-out!

Forgive me if I'm missing something here, but I've searched and I've read, and read, and read, and see a lot of people talking about lifting balls with a rotating screw, but has anyone here done it yet?

I have several ideas for creating a quickly moving, non-jamming ball lifter (including one not discussed here, believe it or not) but I think that the Archimede's Screw would be the coolest and deserving of high visibility up the side of one of my oak cabinets.

Any actual examples out there to share, actually being put into use on a Pachinko machine with a full 3ft lift?

Thanks! Looking forward to spending many hours with you.

    Welcome to PachiTalk!!

There has been a few discussions / Threads over the years regarding home made ball lifters

and you may even have stumbled across one of DrCrippen324;s experiments with a Chocolate Fountain...

Not sure if anyone actually succeeded in making a reliable running (Archimedes Screw type) for constant use though

Your thread will re-ignite the topic and it would be great to learn about your ideas too

Thanks for the welcome. I did see the chocolate fountain and it reminds me very much of something I would do. "Hey Honey, have you seen the chocolate fountain? I need it for the party." "Um, what chocolate fountain? Hey Dear, have you seen my groovy new Pachinko ball lifter?"

If only that screw were 3ft long.

It's looking like I'll make a screw by hand, but I'd prefer a turned wood one (like a fancy table leg, but much longer) or a premade plastic one. Can't quite find the right product online. I'm looking at long wood augers but don't really want to use metal.

Saw that in some previous posts, but, well, that's what I'm talkin' about!
    Very cool.
How can you resist not building it?
