bicycle boxes are great for pachi shipping

just did the rounds in berkeley, got three double wall boxes that had new bicycles shipped in them.

very sturdy, just have to shorten them a bit.

now, if only the shipping people would keep them on their edge and not lay flat, the trays would be safe.

unfortunately, this one had a nishijin A that got the bottom tray cracked... I think that I will build a wood frame over that tray next time.

It's just about impossible for a package like that to not wind up laying flat during the shipping process. UPS, FedEx and others all use automated conveyors for most of the handling process, not much of it is done by hand.

Those automated systems don't pay any attention to things written on the outside of the box like "Fragile" or "Do Not Lay on Side."

I think bike boxes are also the chosen shippers for pinball playfields. Don't let the stores know...or they will start charging for them.
