the black plague

Hello all, I'm now working on my 8th restore and have noticed something besides the strange water marks. Every machine I've worked on has this strange oily black soot like film on them. Didn't notice at first because my first machine was so caked in dirt I couldn't see it, till I looked for it. My next 3 machines I got from a guy who fixed pinball machines and had a shop fire. But the following machines all have the same black scuzz. Has any one else encountered the black plague??

very old mildew!!!

I always thought it was a combination of mildew and/or smoke tar build up.

btw, did you make those trays yourself? they look like metal and I have usually seen plastic in those spots.

mildew ? nasty. and yes mudfud i made those parts and i made the out of #10 can i got frome work
