I stumbled across the forum looking for pachinko balls for an old machine we got in the late 1960s when we were kids.

I think my father got us this for Christmas in 1969 or 1970. It's built into the wall in our finished basement. We changed the bulbs to 3 volts to run it off of two D batteries.

Many of the balls are pretty rusty so I'm pretty sure I need to buy some new ones. I have over 700 balls for the machine. I saw some eBay auctions and bid on a package of 500 from some guy in California yesterday.

I know a little about these machines but it looks like there are a whole lot of people here who have a lot to offer on the subject so I look forward to reading some of the threads.

if u have or know someone with a tumbler u can clean your sphears. the kind that ammo reloaders use work great

My brother stopped over today and I asked him if he could remember when our father bought this machine. My brother was almost positive it was 1973, maybe 1974 but I'm pretty sure it was 1973.

I tried cleaning up the old balls and about 200 of them were so rusty, I don't want to use them. That left me with about 500 or so pretty decent balls but I bought 500 "new" used balls on eBay and they look like they're brand new so I shelved the 500 that I had cleaned up last week.

I spent a lot of time cleaning the playing field as it was very dirty with rust and dirt tracks from the old, rusty balls. I used soap and water on an old tee shirt and it cleaned up very nicely. I polished up the chrome on the outside, cleaned as much of the trays and tracks as I could and the machine looks almost as good as when we first got it 36 years ago.

I'm very happy that I found this site as it gave me the incentive to get my machine back into shape. Thank you everyone for all the great advice and information here.
