Post Current prices in Japan for vintages

This will be useful information for some, I'm betting...

As I find them (if you're interested that is?) I'll post up any auctions on Yahoo JP I find with SOLD prices. Caveat - not all, just ones I find interesting.

Is this something you'd like to see?

    http://page6.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/f86853801

These links will eventually (inevitably) die, so I'll post a snapshot of the sold info and a photo of the machine where possible, to make a database of sorts for future use.

so whatya' know... those vintages really ARE worth some money in the old country!

Thanks for taking the time to do this. I think most on here would like to know what some of these machines are going for.

wow. I'm surprised that it went for that much. I was following it myself.

say, if you do upload the pix, would you upload a picture of the back, too, if it's available?

    thanks for doing this.

    Its a table/desk model Pachinko...
That is a cell only but wired up to run without balls. Push a button on the remote, and it spins.

Yes - this speaks to the mind of the 'recent modern' fan that I can't get into. You can watch the Reaches and have them at your command, on your desktop. So you can watch the videos at will. All the gameplay has been removed however.

I think TV is better, honestly...

I have noticed that most bidders on Yahoo JP for machines do this - have lots of little, separate tiny bids. I guess it's part of the Yahoo setup, in that if someone bids within 5 minutes of auction-end, the auction goes 5 mins longer. So you get people just inching it along. But they also do this well before the auction ends, so it appears quite a proportion of bidders also like to just bid minimum raises against each other.

I should also add that they can be used by VERY keen students of pachinko to learn all the Reaches for that machine, and perhaps then get some inkling of when a machine might have a large jackpot on the way, due to the telltale signs it might give off. This is probably more 'occult' than anything though - you could still be taken by a parlour setting really hard settings on a machine remotely, and never know about it, despite all your study on that one particular model...

Any pachi pros care to discuss?

I haven't seen anywhere where a parlor can change anything on a particular machine other than pin width/angle.

When a new machine comes out it almost always is immediately available on YJA, someone wants to learn for free (aside from the cost of the machine) while others are losing in the parlors. Plus you can sell that information to others (plenty of that around )

I know where you are coming from, but frankly, I just don't believe that they don't. And its probably a whole discussion for another day, eh???

And there's another one - how much is this info worth, and really, does it give you any kind of reasonable edge over the parlour? I'd argue no - but you're right, it certainly doesn't stop people selling, or buying, that knowledge.

The other reason of course is if you have little storage space (a fact every native deals with), these certainly take up a whole lot less room without the accompanying parlour frame. That way, you can collect 10 of them and not have the wife kick you out of home.

Post latest prices in Japan for vintages

Latest interesting vintage price from Japan Yahoo:

A Mitsui 'Frog' which went for 26,100 yen - not a bad price for a very nicely presented machine.

Seeing as any conversion I post will be redundant at any later point, I'll only post the YEN amounts here and individuals can do their own conversions using their own tools.

    Exclamation funny yahoo pachinko auction

Oh, and I had to show you this one (unrelated) I came across when browsing today - something that the Seller would NEVER get away with on eBay!!!

The machine name is actually 'Funky Doctor', which they have in the title there, so I'm not sure why they used this English... the body text didn't give me any mroe clues... I might ask them...
