Default Nishijin A, B and C Common Themes

Based on a discussion in another thread, I wanted to ask what machine themes are known to be common to a Nishijin A, B and C model? i.e. which theme carried through all three?

I know that the monkey/alligator theme is available for all three, what others do you know about?

    Just for fun.

I read the same thread and was wondering the same thing. I have a Nishijin A (Some suggested I call it William or PacStar) that has the same cell art as a B that Mopar has in his album. I wonder if these machines were all in production at the same time? Perhaps each parlor ordered machines according to options available. Much like we pick out cars.

Things that make you go Hmmmmm...

Upon further review: They have the same artwork but different center devices!

The A, B and C machines were made at different times and the mechanics/payout mechanisms etc.. changed as they progressed. They seem to have carried over the main attraction for a few themes, though. The background/tulips/etc.. changed as well, but the main theme stayed the same.

I was just asking for fun about the main theme that people have seen in A, B and C models.

So far, alligator & monkey is all I have seen in all three.

Jeff and I both have the "Jump" theme in different machines. His is a Maruto and mine is a Maruhon.

I'm almost certain I've seen it in another manufacturer as well.

One theme I have seen in the Nishijin variations is the Fable of The Crab and The Monkey.
A story of a cheating Monkey and a Crab who, with the help of a Wasp and an (animate)Rice Pot, curb stomped the Monkey that cheated and beat the Crab. (I gotta find an anime version of this story, hehe.) I recently found a Crab and Monkey Nishijin B in good condition. I think this theme continued into the more modern machines.

Another is the Daruma Doll or Wish Doll. It is the red coloured head (usually)with moving eyes. The tradition is to buy a Daruma Doll that has no pupils and paint in one pupil when making the wish and then painting in the other when the wish is fulfilled hence the theme. I have a Sankyo with a Daruma center piece. I have seen other makers using this theme.

Generally, the way I can tell is the way the back is put together. Somewhere on PT, but I can't find it right now, is a good post with pictures of the back of A, B and C machines, they are pretty distinctive. You could just look up pictures from posts about each kind of you can't find the post comparing all three. This is the back of one of my Nishijin B's:

That's the thread I was looking for - thanks Mopar, I should have just searched through your posts - figured you'd be involved somehow.
