    Post What does this do?

What does the hook pictured towards the top of the picture do? It's the one hooked on the nail. When released, it drops into the path of the won ball chute.

I have the tray empty ramp held down with the rubber band until I can get more balls. At this point, I don't have enough balls to fill the hopper and play the game.

The nail is there to prevent the hook from going too far to the left. It's not supposed to be on the side of the nail you have it on. It's a release mechanism for the metal lever the ball is sitting on. Prevents cheating. A ball falling down the chute hits the top part of that hook, allowing the metal lever to travel downwards after the ball hits it.

that's a good question. I just looked at my first daiichi, and it does not have that plastic lever. an older one in my garage, however, does. I have not cleaned it yet or run balls through it.

if you don't get an answer by next week, I will be in salinas again, and I can work on the daiichi first and let you know.

does the lever impede ball flow at all? is it propped up in that picture?

What I think it does is keep that lever from being able to go downward without a ball present. It seems to have no effect on ball flow at all.
