I got it.

The door key was broken off in the door.
It came with ~ 300 tokens.
We negotiated the final price.

I have a Thunderbirds Pachislo too, it's sort of stacked and stored in the garage at the moment, so it's been a couple years since I last played it

but from what I remember, it was pretty cool and the kids really loved it

I was wondering if anyone was interested, glad to see so.
As for the key, I ground a pair of tweezers so they are almost tissue
thin and I have used them to successfully remove broken keys from
cars and door locks.

I got the broken key out of the lock (Tiny tweezers) then picked the lock to open the machine. I need either a key or a lock. I have both pieces of the key and will go find a locksmith/keyshop and hopefully make a key.
I took the lock out and attempted to do an ARBY PATENTED LOCK MOD, just like I have done on some Pachinkos but NO GO. This is a tubular body lock that seems pinned in. I dont think I can get it apart easily.
I spent a hour or so going over it and cleaning it. The usual stuff we insane people do.
Counted the tokens...~750. Washed them in hot water with a squirt of soap and a spray of 409. Rinse and dry.
Fired it up and it runs perfectly. Did I say LOUD. Even on the lowest setting. This guy will get a stereo l-pad tomorrow.
Are you suprised to know that after running only 50 tokens through it, I let my wife play...Within 20 spins she got 777 ! She played for the next 45 minutes with one bonus game after another.

As for the volume, I recently bought a bag of 10 500 ohm dual ganged pots on ebay and they work extremely well. Cheap also, $10.49 total.

I bought these because I wanted to run the control up to the top of the pachi and put a knob on it.

My wife seems to have all the luck at hitting jackpots as well. She has hit 777 and BB and BC ,etc so many times and I have never hit them once! I give her the money to play with when we go to Yonkers or Atlantic city just to be safe!
