I have a Nishjin Model A bowling alley theme that I got for Christmas, probably sometime around 1974 or so, always stored indoors and covered.
I appreciate all the great posts on cleaning and restoring. What started as my usual dust removal has now turned in to a restoration of sorts. Stopped short of removing the brass pins and playfield graphics, but I did remove everything from the back of the machine and everything from the front, except for the tulips (heard they're fragile). Just need to clean the playfield and put everything back together. I polished all my brass pins with Brasso, a Dremel with a cotton tip attachment and shoelaces.
Now for my question: is there anything you folks can recommend to help protect the brass keep it shiny? The pin polishing was a ton of work! I see some recommend using a Miracle polishing cloth. Does this protect the brass without leaving a residue that will attract dirt and dirty the balls?
Sorry for the sideways image, it was correct on my PC, but I couldn't figure out how to rotate it once attached.
