Default The logos are licensed and payed for?

This machine is not that great.

In his auctions he says "The logos are licensed and payed for" (spelling error retained). Anybody know how he is thinking and how he licensed them?

    Default LIC

I'D BE WILLING TO BET THEY ARE LICENSED TO SOME WEBSITE SOMEWHERE. OR HE PAYED FOR THEM AT THE LOCAL K-MART AND NOW FEELS HE HAS THE RIGHT TO MARKET THEM. BY THE WAY IF YOU DO BUY A PIC LIKE THAT IS IT LEGIT TO PASTE IT ON A BELLY AND RESELL IT? I WOULD THINK SO AS LONG AS YOU MAKE NO OUTRAGEUS CLAIMS?

There is no way in CALIFORNIA that the NFL gave this 2 bit character the license to do this. Does he not realize how many millions and millions of dollars the NFL generates. Does anybody even think that the NFL would entertain the notion of letting some ebay punk customize a machine that may encourage gambling with their logos on it....I think not!

Even if he didn't get the rights...he states it is a custom and thats all he needs to do as far as EBay goes probably. I equate this to me putting a Firebird sticker and picture on my Grand Am. Anything goes now on this stuff and you better be happy you found Pachitalk before falling for this kinda of Pachislo.

I am wondering about this because I am starting to make custom machines and know that I have a snowball in hell chance of actually getting permission to use logos on machines.

I make a custom Monopoly machine and would love it if I could include a full monopoly board game with it to cover the copyright issue but I know this is futile. I guess I will just keep on breaking copyright laws until they tell me to stop.

As far as copyright law goes, I can make my own Pac Man t-shirt and wear it without breaking copyright law, but if I make Pac Man t-shirts and then sell them, then I am breaking copyright law.

Copyright law = The Right to Copy :-P

    dapper-

You did a very nice job on your Monopoly custom and you made some money doing it...that's great all around for you and your buyer, who got a beautiful machine. The difference here is that this guy is misleading, misrepresenting, and in my opinion a flat out scam artist (pardon the pun). He knows he doesn't have permission from the NFL, so why would he claim that. He should have just listed it and I would have no problem with it. He just should not make such claims.

I wouldn't worry about it as everyone is getting into the game.

I agree arby but lets face it : If a person can slap on a belly glass and sell a 70.00 Pachislo for 500.00-1000.00, I think it will be common place real soon.

I found this on the NFL FAQ Website:

I have a great idea for an NFL Licensed Product. Where can I find information on obtaining an NFL license?

For information on obtaining a license to produce NFL merchandise, call (212) 450-2000 and ask for the NFL Licensing Information Line.

This won't apply unless you state it is "an official NFL product".

The precedent has been set and accepted by Ebay.
