Default How to ship a Pachinko

I finally found some time to pick up my Jaws machine from a local depot that I had bought off of ebay. Which is always worry as I have heard lots of horror stories on these forums about badly packed/damaged machines but I got a pleasant surprise when I found it to have been packed like the ark of the covernant.

I couldn't unscrew the 27 screws fast enough. The shipper had broken off the feet, I guess to make the crate smaller but I plan to build a cabinet for this one so it doesn't matter in fact he saved me the job. The machine itself is in good condition clearly not brand new like the seller stated in his ad but then I know it wouldn't be. It looks like it originated from Slot-Pachinko, I recognize there handy work with the wooden feet that had been glued on with what looks like no more nails. I guess because the frame is metal and not wood. It does need a good clean (don't they all?), lots of dust in the ball tracks, feeder tray etc... but the cell is in great shape.

Not had much chance yet to play the machine yet I want to it cleaned up first. The volume level seems good not crazy loud at all (apart from the alarm) no need for L-pads.

Having not seen the machine in person before I never realized how detailed the cell was. The teeth are very realistic, clear blue bubbles, sharks bursting through the metal bars and the spinning sirens make this a great looking cell.

that is an impressive packing job. crating it like that has to be the best way.

my jaws got the right upper red plastic bulge broken on ship. I told the wife that you needed to mark it "this side up" to keep it vertical in transit. our friend who was helping, who works for fedex, thought it would be worse (that the guys would kick it around MORE).

I think it DOES make a difference, since they will be less tempted to lay it flat and put other packages on top of it.

ENJOY. it's a great machine, and really interactive.

p.s. how much extra did the wooden crating cost?

The shipping was only $45!!! I think the seller must have made a loss on the shipping? Although he had a business account and shipped by a company called Central Freight. It did come from Palm Springs only 175 miles away.

I sent a message to the seller to thank him on the great packing job he replied letting me know it actually cost him $125 to ship. I guess his loss was my gain.

Ouch...I guess they deserve a feedback for that.
