    Lightbulb Pachinko Parlor?

Has anyone tried to open a pachinko parlor in the states? My fiance and I are seriously considering it...your thoughts?

its been discussed in the past.

it may be considered gambling in many states, it might be covered under the chuckiecheese law with small prizes for balls as an arcade game.

another idea was to loan out balls for a small fee to play or with purchase of other items, with no winnings paid out.

how about having dave rob's dongles fitted to each machine?get x amount of balls for a quarter, when they're gone, buy more?amusement only.which should be perfectly legal,as pinball machines and video games are.just don't allow turning in won balls for cash, that would be gambling.

it might work as a redemption game, though.not too sure about the law on that.giving prizes instead of money, that sounds like chuck e cheese when they had one here.better check with a lawyer before proceeding.

Do it as a side thing, not your sole source of income, and be prepared to lose money on it. You'd be better off doing something like Dave & Busters, a restaurant with a parlor attached, at least the restaurant would cover some of the cost of the other part. These machines are cool, but expect the average person to become bored after a while, unless you have a wide variety of machines. Perhaps more of an arcade thing, with an aisle of pachinko and pachislo machines, but not necessarily exclusive.
