for home protection buy a few cans of wasp spray and keep them close to your outside doors.

its better than mace and will spray up to 25 feet

make sure you keep them out of reach of children

pick them up and carry them you don't want the csi to see the heel marks if you get blood on you .You where doing cpr ...and of course any question you answer should end in ...I was afraid for my life and my families lives.

If your outside just go you can't catch me, run back inside and as he comes though the door give them there consolation prize. OK that may be a bit naive. Just holler as your running for the door theres free booze behind the bar. They will probably pass you into the house giving you plenty of time to make the best shot.
