Default Gonna make my first Pachinko Cabinet this weekend...

    Hey all,

Ok, I am ready to mount my Daido TAKO machine this weekend. I am gonna mount it to the wall.

I like the plans here Pachinko Cabinets because they are basic, straighforward, and start from one single piece of lumber.

However, I think i'll extend the sides down about 6 inches and put another bottom on so that the 'lost' balls can drop into a bin for easy access!

I am kinda hesitant because I don't want to screw up, but I am sure once I start, it will be no big deal.

Also, my father has a complete workshop (wood working, electrical, etc) so that will help... Mayble i'll just watch him make it...heh...

    Wish me luck,

    Matt!!

They are quite easy to make, I extend above and below.

Good Luck with your cabinet building

I only have one cabinet mount so far, but hoping to get one built for each of my pachinkos eventually

So I hope you are able to take some pics, always interested in seeing how these are put together...

What I learned from the cabinet posts is a design element where you don't loose the balls when you open the door for servicing. This is assuming you incorporate a ball hopper at the top. Good luck, wood is more forgiving than working with metal, there are a lot more options if you make a mistake.

there are lots more in the cabinet section, too.

I like the ones with a funnel at the top so you don't have to open the front. if you use cardboard or wood to extend the plastic top tray all the way up to the upper cabinet frame, you can load a bunch more balls, without them overflowing the tray.

the extended bottom with a front hole and a door is nice. you can put a big cup down there to catch the balls, then easily pour them back into the top.

be careful with the table saw. that is one tool that I am pretty scared of, and I usually get someone else to do that part of the job for me. I worked with a hand surgeon when I was in school, and he had a whole collection of saw injuries that were pretty gruesome.

Working in the ER and using power tools is like a cow using a meat grinder.

ummm. that is quite a visual... reminds me of a very warped far side comic...

the other part of my being a wimp with big power tools is that if I hurt one of my fingers, it would make my regular work a lot more difficult...

I remodeled my kitchen and bathroom all with a 2.5 inch rechargeable makita saw. wasn't very powerful, but kept me out of trouble. the big pieces of plywood I had cut at home depot on their panel saw. I do have a chop saw, too, but that's pretty safe feeling.

    Hey all,

Ok - the cabinet is done! All I have to do now is touch up the screws with some black paint after it's hung...

I placed a VHS tape LONGWAYS in the bottom of it so you can get an idea of just how much room this cabinet has!

    Thanks,

    Matt!
