Most hilarious Craigslist ad
Hello Everyone,
This ad involves a modern Pachi but I had to share it with my Vintage frieinds. I cracked up when I read this:
Pachinko Machine Big Powerful - price reduced - $100 (Saint Paul)
Date: 2009-09-29, 6:02PM CDT
For sale: my son's Pachinko machine. He just went off to college and wants cash, having put away all childish things, and would rather have money to spend .
This is a very fine machine. It says "BIG POWERFUL" on the front. So I suspect it is in fact big powerful. How it works, I cannot say, since its proper use is apparently incomprehensible to those of us who have been brought up in Western modalities of dualistic thought. I can tell you that lights come on when you plug it in, and twisting the shorn-turnip-shaped knob at the bottom will make it send small steel balls skittering through the front, where they bounce around in pinball-style fashion. If they go in one hole, they shoot out the back into a container, or else onto the floor where you step on them in stockinged feet in the middle of the night when all you wanted to do was go to the bathroom. If they go in another, extremely irritating music plays and lights flash. There is a screen also that has flying manga girls and cherries and grapes that never line up. It is truly big powerful.
It sits in my garage and awaits the ministrations of somebody who understands it. I certainly do not, although I suspect a whole lot of Sake would help me bridge the cultural divide this piece of irritating technology represents.
100 bucks or best offer. Sold 'As is', since I have no idea what it does and so cannot evaluate its condition. Cash only please.
