Default Speaker Static on Addams Family

I have an Addams Family machine that is making a constant static noise from the speakers. I've read some older posts and just purchased some lubricant spray from Radio Shack. I don't want to do any permanent damage to the machine with this spray, so can anyone that's fixed this problem before provide some input on what to do? There are purple and red wires leading from the speakers to the top back of the machine. Should I undo these wires at the speaker and simply spray the ends of the wires and the metal prongs (?) that the wires latch on to? Thanks. I will post pictures momentarily.

is it from both speakers or just one? Do you have volume controls installed on each speaker? if its just one speaker, swap speakers to see if the problem stays or follows the speaker. if the problem stays most likley the volume control is going bad.

It appears to be coming from just the left speaker (when looking at the front of the machine with the door closed. I do not have volume controls installed in this machine. Have you ever tried that spray on the connectors? Thanks

no I never tried the spray on stuff but I don't really see that helping. swap the speaker and see if the problem follows the speaker. If it does great replace the speaker. If not look for a loose or frayed wire. Reseat all connections.
