    Default New arcade cabinet...

Been trying to decide on what to do about a MAME cabinet for awhile, and came across this at Sam's marked down from $1200 to $500. I doubt I could build one anywhere this nice for the price.

Really nice cabinet. Heck of a lot of controls and buttons, and supports just about every game system.

I think that is one great looking cabinet... a piece of furniture, if you will.

If your budget allows, I think you should go for it... you may not get a second chance.

Got this thing home. The box it came in is a lot bigger than I thought, and quite heavy.

Some minor assembly is required i.e. attaching the control panel, and the front stabilizer feet.

Once you remove the back, adding the game systems is a snap. You just attach the audio/video/joystick cords (which are included for the newer systems) and it's ready to go.

Unfortunately my old laptop is too slow to run MAME and Daphne, so I decided to 'modify' my old gaming computer. A short time later, it all fits quite nicely!

Still to do... Find a compact keyboard w/ trackball, add wireless nic card, clean up the wiring rats nest.

The wood makes me think of something that you would find in a Irish Pub. (That is a compliment.) It would go great in a room with a pool table, wet bar, and so forth. I personally would rather have a different style (like the one I made), but this one is impressive in its own right.

I like that cabinet, and my you worked fast on getting it home and sorted!!

Would look great with some old coin-operated machines to sit next to it, how about a vintage Fortune Teller??

    Sweet!

Since I bought mine at the store, the PS2 and games were not included. This is only available when you buy online. Since we already have a PS2, and most the games were ones in MAME, I decided not to risk shipping.

If you're going to use this for MAME, there's no coin add, or player select buttons. So you'll have to remap those keys to spare keys on the control panel. I also remapped from the analog to the digital joysticks. Everything works great!!

I called Quasimoto to register, and asked them about the XBox 360 control cables, and they aren't expecting them until next year.

Hate to post after myself but...

Found a compact keyboard at Office Depot. Logitech K300, and fits with room to spare. Logitech > Keyboards > Keyboards > Compact Keyboard K300

Instead of a trackball, I found a progam that lets you use a joystick as a mouse. Download Joystick 2 Mouse - Freeware Software - Tucows

Still need fan ideas, and a wireless internet card.

I have a couple cpu case fans, but I'm looking for something that will turn on with the power, not just the computer...

Hmmmm... Maybe 2 of the 110v ones. One blowing in at the top, one blowing out near the bottom.

I was looking at the 8" muffin fans, but the price... Yeowch!
