Yep. Very old. And not surprisingly, getting older every day.

Better than older = more wrinkly, like a Shar Pei

I have worked with plexi for a number of years in a Museum. the proper way to cut plexi is with a carbide tipped blade on a table saw. leaving the paper on as not to scratch the surface untill the cut is complete. a quick going over with a straight edge razor followed by a torch along the cut edges makes them transparent. I would suggest Glass as a replacement where possible as the Plexi will scratch and become opaque from the balls over time as plexi is very soft and prone to yellowing. Acrylite is the best Brand not sure if its available in Home Depot. Check on the internet for Plastics and Plexi dealers and they could advise you with all the proper available types of Plexi and the tools neede to work with it. Hope this helps

I prefer actual glass on both sides of my Pachinkos. I have one of my machines with Plexiglas and it is not as clear as it should be. The sound level with two glass pieces is not objectionable and the scratch resistance and the clarity are worth it.

"OK. I'm going to stick with using plastic polish products and just make the exisiting plastic clear with some elbow grease! You've convinced me.

BTW, I've gotten excellent results polishing out scratches with plastic polish. It is amazing how good it works with some patience and work."

Aaaah...that must've been another slotter/don who said the above quote earlier in this same thread.
