I have a pachi that has a broken string too..haven't gotten around to trying to fix it yet though..
I used to sell yo-yo string and it might be too thick and is Very stretchy when new!!

Braided dacron fishing line is my vote.
I bet you can get it free from someone you know.

Well, I've been occupied with putting a floor in my basement, but I did repair the string with fishing line. However, now it seems one ball isn't enough weight to send the monkey down..nor does he go back up that easily. I'm wondering if cleaning the track may make this easier. I am using the original weight. Any ideas??
