A reach is when you have 2 of the same number and it is trying to get the third matching number. When you get 3 of the same one you get a fever.

Eva 3 can be tight sometimes but when you get a match it can win forever. I have had 17 fevers in a row with less than 100 spins and sometimes only 1 between them.

there a part in eva 3 that it goes into a 5 or 3 min countdown. in the show they have 5 min of battery left if they detach there power cord. With this special sequence is there any difference in the regular mode? do you get a better fever chance? or is it just a fancy animation and bgm?

the countdown is supposed to increase your chance of a fever, but, if the machine isn't ready to fever it won't.

so, its more to change around the gameplay

you can't take the pins out right? because on the lower left and lower right there holes that gives you like 3 balls when the ball fall in and there a pin in the way of the hole.

is there a space on the side of the hole to let the balls in.

my Eva1 has a side space big enough for a ball to pass thru

balls bouncing around will go in there

in the countdown modes it makes a thunder sound if you get the first reel to stop on the number it has displayed. I think if you get a reach on that number it is an automatic win. I have had it happen 3 or 4 times on Eva 3 but never on 1 or 2.

I like all the different backgrounds and music, it keeps it from ever getting boring

on the left side you cant get it to drop in because the way the ball falls it wont ever get to it due to the angle of the fall.

It could be that the nails / pins may need adjusting slightly, if the Pachinko has come straight from a parlour, it may be tuned 'tight' in the Parlour's favour

But mostly pachinko balls bounce about all over the place and can get into areas that you may not think are accessible, you could try manually testing these areas with a pachinko ball to make sure it will pass through

You could also take / post a couple of close pics of these pockets where you think the nails are blocking, and see if they are the same as other members with this model

Pachinko balls are of a very dense metal so that when they hit the brass pins they will bounce and bounce in any direction. You will be surprised to see the bouncing patterns these balls will take.
If you are concerned about a ball not going into a pocket, do like Hanabi suggested. Take a ball and see if it fits between the pins. If its tight then the pins might need a little adjustment to make that area a tiny bit bigger, but it a ball will fit between them then the balls will go in those pockets.

i use a very small socket on a 1/4 inch screwdriver handle and adjust gently by hand

it gives good leverage and there is no damage to the nails

Short of buying the proper nail adjustment tool, Luckydog's suggestion is good.

I just use my fingers, but lucky's way is probably a lot less painful!!

Just remember, when bending nails a little goes a long way...after you're done it may not even look like its any different than before you started..
