    Default Newbie

    Hi everybody,
WOW, great site you have here! After reading a few pages of threads I want to rescue every vintage pachinko I can find and fix it and give it a good home. Yes, I am now officially an addict.
I recently reaquired my vintage sanyo. My grandfather gave it to us in the 70's. I remember playing it and getting hit by the pachinko balls that my brother was throwing at me, ahhhh memories It works pretty good but it has been sitting in my mom's basement for a couple of decades collecting rust and dust. Needs the lights fixed, some major tlc and an ash tray. I always loved the center design, when you get a pachinko ball in there the eyes move to a different position.
Right after I got the sanyo, my dad came up for a visit and what did he bring with him? A pachinko! He did not know that I had the sanyo, he thought that is disappeared a long time ago so he got me this one as a replacement. The one he gave me has a sticker on the back that says Sophia, I think it is a nishijin? Can anyone help to id it? It is very dirty and it looks as though there are some stains on the cell. Oh well, it's a pachinko and it works, well, kind of. From the looks of it, it is not even wired for lights, if they were even on there to begin with. I will probably be asking for lots of help on this one. I love pachinko but I have no clue how to fix one. Hopefully, with your help, I can figure this out and save the life of a pachinko or two, or three or four, ok, no more than 8, heck, might as well round it up to an even 10. It's ok, I can quit anytime I want...now that I have come over to the dark side, where's the cookies?

I'm pretty sure the center feature is a Daruma

The other one is a Nishijin 'Vegas' from 1969

    Welcome to Pachitalk

u have a nice looking sanyo and a nice older model "A"

    glad to have ya

on thing that may cause u a little problem with your sanyo is the cover off the lower track is missing.. it may not cause a problem but it is designed to keep the balls from staking up.. i have made a replacement piece from flat stock aluminum.. bends easy and looks good ... just a thought

    nice machines!

the sanyo, comet II, is pretty common. search the forums and you'll see lots of posts and questions. this was my electrical vid

    YouTube - pachinko sanyo electrical

on the single shot conversion, it is called las vegas, like compirate said, and was a transition from the old single shots to multi-shot. the mechanism in the back we call the nishijin type A.

feel free to ask lots of questions.

if no one mentioned yet, do not clean the face, the cell, with water... staining is the worst problem on the machines and detracts from appearance and value.

also, no grease or WD40 on anything. gunks up the parts and stains the cells.

Can you post some pictures of the back of the Nishijin machine. It looks like a gorgeous machine. I love the older vintage pachinkos.
