Default Help with problem on Star Wars machine (mechanical) :(

    Greetings board.

This is my first post and while I was hoping to say "hey" out of excitement at my purchases into this hobby, my post is out of distress.

I have recently bought the Star Wars black frame Vader machine and the Freddie vs. Jason machine (both from Slots-Pachinko). Was ecstatic about them. It was Christmas at my house.

Well all of a sudden after about 2 weeks and not an extreme amount of use, I've got a problem with my SW machine.

When I turn the trigger knob I just get a whirring motor noise and no "snap" of the ball being fired.

As I said, I'm new to this hobby so my knowledge of the problem is limited. All I know is while juice seems to be going to the mechanism, it will not fire balls anymore.

    Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

I am/was planning to call the S-P service number, but with my work schedule I don't want to bother them in the evening and would prefer to possibly provide them with information I might get from those who might have seen this problem before.

    Thanks!

    Eric

    Hello,

Seeing as how the Pachinko has been working fine for 2 weeks, I doubt it is a dongle problem, but you could try unplugging it and reseating it just to rule that one out

and also check for anything that may be blocking the areas that balls travel in, you'd be surprised by what people find in their pachinkos...

Are you displaying any error codes at all??

Hopefully one of our more technically minded members will pop in with their own suggestions

WOOO HOOOOO I just messed around with the machine. I figured out (after some work) how to open the panel that contains the shooting mechanism. Everything looked okay except there was a ball stuck.

Then it occurred to me what the issue was! I have kids that have some magnetic building toys with little magnetic rods and metal ball bearings. They look strangely like pachinko balls yet are JUST enough bigger that they don't go through the plastic piece leading to the shooter. One of those balls had gotten put into the tray by mistake.

    Problem solved.

NOW... if any member has quality suggestions on how to get kids to keep their toys picked up, that would solve a LOT of problems

Ummm, Introduce them to duct tape?

This is my personal opinion, or of the voices in my head, and are not meant to reflect the opinion of this board.
