Default When even a noob just can't say no

So these were at my neighbor's yard sale this past weekend and there was absolutely no interest in them...grand total $7 for the both of them. $5 for the Sanyo (since it has a power cord) and $2 for the Nishijin. Total noob at this but getting very excited abuot fixing these up and playing them - and thoroughly pleased with finding this forum.

A couple of questions that hopefully someone knows the answer to - on the Sanyo, there appears to be a piece of the plasitc casing broken off - hopefully - just casing and not particularly important? A random yellow plastic piece is also loose...not obvious where it goes at this point. The Nishijin's tray is broken, but thankfully the piece is there - any easy way to reattach.

    This should be fun!

We have several vintage enthusiasts here... I'm sure that they will give you all the good direction you need. Did you get balls with the machines?

What a nice buy you got!!!

those are nice machines, and a bargain.

the plastic pieces can be glued with model cement.

I can't get the last picture to open... can't see what's broken

you will have great fun getting them to work. it's not hard. check out the "how a vintage machine works" at the beginning of the vintage forum.

looks like a couple of nice machines

the nishijin is a older model "A" machine..

the sanyo appers to be newer

at first glance they both look to be compleat.. the proken part on the sanyo appers to be part of a cover that is no gone.. should not effect game play

did u get any balls with them???

i beleave the ball tray is being remade by Pachinkoman in texas if your interested in replacing it..

looks like ut got a really good deal..

and ohhh ya i almost forgot

your pic that shows the front of the sanyo i can see the weighted pendelum.. it is sitting on the overflow win tray.

it should be attached(on the back) with a nail... at the top of the ball track.. its perpous is to keep a bunch of balls from jaming up at the point where the balls drop and turn 180 dregres back twards the jackpot

hear is a pic of a different style of machine.. it has two pendelum..

hope u can get them working

Great deal and the machines look in OK shape. Hope you have fun fixing them up. Don't forget to take tons of pictures as you dismantle them.

    SCORE !!!

Now the fun begins... when you get to fix and clean them up.

Tip: take lots of pictures as you disassemble any section just in case you get lost. During the cleaning/fixing stage you'll soon learn a whole lot about how they work. To me this is the best part of finding new machines, even more fun then playing them.

Thanks to everyone! I'm excited to start. Only about 25 spheres so that's one of the first things on the list (especialy when I tear my son away from the Nishijin with half the plexi). Further note on the Sanyo - I think year of manufacture is Dec '77 (52 12 is the code on the sticker). Will probably start on the Sanyo first. Thanks for the info on the pendulum too! I'm sure I'll be asking for guidance many times here!
