Default Blowing fuses, found problem, know help is needed!!

I bought this pachislo nitro from a friend. It worked great till transformer burned out. I replaced it w/ good quality resetable 24volt 8amp unit, but when plugged in, it pops the 20amp fuse. I determined that there a short in the main power box. Any ideas on replacing it or someone to repair it? Thanks, MM.

I think I can help here...

I just fixed my first Pachislo power supply last night.

In the power supply, you will see 2 large heat sinks. On these heat sinks are a series of TO-220 transistor type devices screwed to it. They are a combnation of power MOSFETS and "Barrier Diodes". On the one I fixed, - one Barrier Diode was shorted, and so I replaced it, and it now works (for a neighbor's machine).

You do need to be well versed in electronics cirvuit board repair to do this, and moderate to good soldering skills are required. Further, and on the power supplys used in these Pachi's, you will also need pretty good, and clever mechanical skills as well, and there is NO clearence to remove the philips head screws holding the TO-220 devices to the heatsinks, - you will need to do it with a good quality pair of toothed needle-nose pliers.

I'm new to Pachi's, as my neighbor pulled me into all of this when he came to me for a power supply repair on a machine that he got. I am not new to electronics however, and well versed in both, power supply design, and repair, and used to make a business of it.

I think this forum is awesome, and I'm htinking of getting a Pachi, just to learn about them, and maybe help be a contributor to the forum, as this is my very first post to the forum.
