sorry for getting in the thread so late but What specs did you use to design the box? it looks like a bandpass enclosure making the subs more efficient but decreasing the power handling. I was thinking about doing the same but using a small amp from my current powered subwoofer.

I'm not sure exactly, but I think my ADD is getting far worse after my newest promotion! I have transferred back to days and I have new pictures to post.

The "Beast" is still in use today as my main sub in a 7.2 system. I still get complements on the full sound. You still can't miss the thing! It now has an upgraded amp, but still uses the same drivers, making it the most powerful, inexpensive sub I have ever built. It remains one of the most "rich" sounding subs I have every made.

Hey ShockSystem, just came across this whole thread and thought maybe any of y'all might be interested in this. A pair of sub cabinets we build in the organ shop (my boss' unique design) that will eventually be attached to the new instrument we're currently in process of making parts of, where they then will ultimately produce the lowest "building-shaking" (literally!) pedal bass notes. Each very solidly made of 1" MDF (and poplar) they stand about 5' tall and are 26" deep, 18" wide (front) and 10" wide (back) with a single port each, as seen.

They'll eventually each get a pair of Dayton Audio 15" drivers, and be driven by a dedicated 300w/ch studio amp running in 'bridged mono' configuration. They can produce a basically flat frequency response starting just under 15hz...they really DO shake buildings. Large, heavy, masonry buildings...
