Default Fried Coin mech in Continental III / MACY

Machine worked for 1 day and the coin mech died. It does not recognize any coins in and the solenoid that diverts to the hopper is dead as well. Voltage measurements were made and the green push button lights up to show that there is power to the board. Found 2 blown diodes and replaced them. The machine worked fine for an hour or so but now totally DOA. Called stealth to see if he had a board and he is looking for me. In the meantime, here are some pics of the diverter:

UPDATE: Well now the machine has the reel lights out and credit/win meter is dead. Checked the fuses and all OK, checked circuit breakers and all OK. I am very close to junking this pachislo as I really don't want to invest a lot of time/money in it but willing to try a few things.

OK I am in NE PA where NY, NJ, and PA all meet in a line. I guess I was just frustrated last night while trying to work on it. But I have learned a lot buy messing with the darn thing. I think in it's former life it was in an illegal club...HINT:Febreez does nothing to take the god-awful smell of smoke out of these things...think ditch the cabinet and get another one. But I really appreciate all of the help on this forum and to "stick" with it until it gets fixed. So that's where we are at now. I replaced 2 diodes on the coin -op mech board and am waiting for a SN74HC00N quad input IC for the board also that I think got fried. That is my backup plan in case Stealth can't come through for me. Then I have to solve the mystery of the reel lights / credit win meter going dead. Might just be simpler to replace the whole PS with one from another unit. Anyway, thanks for the help and I will keep all of you informed whats happening with it.

OK more trouble shooting... I think it is the main board or the PS as there is no power to the hopper. Lots of bulbs are burned out also. I will stll be checking but I have no swap parts so test meter her I go.

In regards to the smoke smell inside the machine, I had the same issue. I spray painted the inside of my cabinet with fresh matte-black krylon spray paint. Then literally soaked all the plastic parts that i could (not containing electronics of course) in a water-diluted TSP mixture. When I dried them off, I used lemon-scented pledge to wipe them again, good for plastics since its oil based and will reduce the chance of oxidation and the plastics cracking or turning white. Looks and smells a lot better now. For all metal parts I used WD-40 to wipe them down. No trace of smoke smell at all anymore, which surprised me, cuz mine was very bad. Might be a lot of work, but I think worth it.

Yeah, dryer sheets work, but for how long? i guess if you were to duct tape dryer sheets all over the inside, the smell might last longer, but just like a sheet in the dryer, the chemical composition will break down and deteriorate as its designed to do. Not a permanant fix. Ive also heard rubbing dryer sheets on a dog will make them smell fresher, but if your dog smells really bad, how long could it last? If I stink like body odor, perfumes might help, but when they wear off, I should stink again, right? Just an analogy. You'd be better off with baking soda for the long run!
