Questions about air freight/pallets to airport...

I've heard that you can save big money shipping if you get a pallet of machines sent to your nearest airport, so I was wondering if I could bug the few of you who may have done it before for some details. So, say I order six machines on a pallet sent to my nearest airport (charlotte-douglas, charlotte NC) ...

When it shows up here, will someone call me and let me know, or will I know in advance?

Do I have to take the whole pallet as one big object or can I tear it apart and load the machines into my van?

Can I leave the pallety part of the whole thing behind? I sure don't have room for it.

How much cheaper is it really? Say, from Ohio or California.

I know DACA sells them at $82 a machine, and there was a california company I swear I saw selling unrefurb'd for $59 or $69, but I haven't been able to find them again in my bookmarks....

Daca does sell one swithought transformers for around that price, but youll get end of the line stuff im sure. Id spend a bit more, maybe closer to 100 each and youll get some decent ones to play around with! Im not sure about the shipping part, but ill ask Dave at daca when im there next week if you would like?

Buy six from DACA for $82 each (per them on the phone, very nice folks) and the load out is: 1 standard, 3 deluxe, 1 premium. I can live with that.

Might be wrong about the numbers, it's been a couple weeks, but it sure wasn't "buy six of our unrefurbished machines and we'll give you nothing but crap boxes". Got any pics of their warehouse from your visits?

Edit: shipping wise, I was hoping someone had some first hand experience with it and some info to share...I've got me one of those newfangled "phone" thingies, and I'm not afraid to use it : )

Try Syscom (pachislo.com). They sell unrefurbed machines and they are in California. In the past they've even had fully refurbed O Hanabis for $49.99. I picked up a couple of those. Unfortunately they don't have them right now.

I keep thinking these were the low-priced guys I saw, but their wholesale page lists worse pricing than daca for unrefurb, although they'll go 79 if you buy ... 96 of them. Yikes. Did they raise their prices in the last couple of months?

Thats actually a good deal at daca, im suprised at him givng a premium up in that deal! Those are usually nice machiens. Anything LCD, or Top of the line 4th reel. Nope dont have any pictures, but ill get some this next time down! Hes actually buying a new wharehouse to use which will only be for slots. He use the place he has now for the showroom for slots, pool tables, pinball, statues, etc. He already has all that stuff in there now, buts its getting quite packed in!
